A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Senior Project Manager within Siemens Energy’s Industrial Steam Turbines & Generators (STG) division in Mexico, you will lead complex, high-value service projects for industrial steam turbines and generators across the Mesoamerica region, including maintenance, modernization, and related erection and commissioning activities.
You will manage projects from contract award to final customer handover, coordinating customers, subcontractors, and internal cross-functional teams while ensuring strong project planning, stakeholder and contract management, and rigorous risk and financial control. Your focus will be on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead the execution of complex industrial steam turbine and generator projects from contract award to final customer handover, managing project schedules, critical paths, and resource allocation to mitigate delays and optimize delivery performance.
- Monitor and control project costs, cash flow, and financial forecasting to maximize project profitability and budget adherence.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external customers, subcontractors, and internal cross-functional teams, including engineering, procurement, and quality; manage customer expectations and resolve conflicts or scope changes through structured change and claim management processes.
- Provide regular project status reports, key performance indicator (KPI) updates, and progress reports to senior regional leadership.
- Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate technical, financial, and schedule-related project risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure full compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines and quality standards both on-site and during the manufacturing phase.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in project management within the power generation, energy, or heavy industrial sectors. A proven track record of managing multimillion-dollar projects with international stakeholders, demonstrating strong financial acumen and contract negotiation skills.
- Must be bilingual English/Spanish.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or IPMA certification. Expertise in project planning and scheduling (MS Project, Primavera), contract and claim management, and financial forecasting and budget control. PE@Siemens Energy certification is highly advantageous.
- Technical knowledge of industrial steam turbines and generators, risk assessment and mitigation, quality and EHS compliance standards.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage stakeholder relationships, and communicate effectively with customers, subcontractors, and internal teams, supported by strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
About the Team
You will be part of a collaborative, multidisciplinary, and results-oriented team, working closely with colleagues and experts across different functions, countries, and regions. The role offers strong exposure to both regional and global teams, fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and joint ownership to successfully deliver our projects.
