As an A&P Mechanic V, you will serve as a subject matter expert, leading large-scale maintenance projects and developing maintenance protocols. You will liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure the highest standards of safety and compliance.The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead large-scale and complex maintenance projects.

  • Serve as an expert in aircraft systems and maintenance protocols.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance procedures.

  • Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.

  • Mentor and develop other mechanics.

  • Conduct advanced diagnostics and repairs.

  • Ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 7+ years of relevant experience.

  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.

  • Active, current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification with no prior FAA violations.

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work locations.

  • Proficiency in repairing, maintaining, and/or troubleshooting aircraft airframes and engines.

  • Ability to understand and interpret complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications.

  • Ability to deploy for an extended amount of time to various OCONUS operating locations.

  • Ability to meet current DoD and Combatant Command requirements for deployed locations.

  • Successfully pass a pre-deployment medical assessment.

  • Must be willing and able to work extended hours, holidays and shift schedules as required.

  • Current/ valid passport and be able to obtain a visa to travel internationally.

  • Willing to deploy OCONUS on an approximate 60/60 rotation.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Associate's degree in Aviation Maintenance or related field.

  • Extensive leadership and project management experience.

  • Expert knowledge of specific aircraft models.

  • FAA repair station and/or Quality Assurance experience.

  • Inspection Authorization (IA) Designation.

  • Ability to travel on a regular basis and/or work different shifts including overtime and weekends.

  • Familiarity with Federal Acquisition Regulation/Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (FAR/DFARS).

  • Prior experience in a Lead role; the ability to mentor, train, guide, and inspect the work of subordinates.

  • Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense, or US Military.

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.

  • Hand and finger dexterity to work with small mechanical components and tools.

  • Ability to work in a noisy environment with potential exposure to hazardous materials.

  • Ability to travel frequently to customer locations, sometimes on short notice.

  • Ability to work in a combination of office and field environments.

  • Ability to read detailed technical manuals, schematics, and computer screens.

  • Ability to inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems accurately.

  • Ability to hear and understand spoken communication in noisy environments, such as industrial sites or construction areas.

  • Ability to detect auditory signals from machinery or equipment, which may indicate issues.

  • Ability to navigate various work environments, including climbing ladders, crawling in confined spaces, and working at heights.

  • Ability to drive or operate a vehicle for frequent travel to customer locations.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all tasks, including repairs, installations, and maintenance.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to safety protocols.

  • Strong awareness of safety protocols and ability to adhere to safety guidelines in potentially hazardous environments.

  • Ability to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards.
