The Quality Engineer II will ensure adherence to stringent quality standards for our products and production processes. This role involves leading quality initiatives, conducting audits, and implementing corrective actions based on statistical analysis and industry best practices.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Advise operations leadership on creation of Corrective Action Request (CAR), Continuous Improvement Item (CI) or Non Conformance (NC)
• Advise local operations leadership on CAR status and schedule
• Advise and/or Teach Root Cause Corrective Action techniques
• Report to QMS Team on any safety or quality issues
• Advise operations Leadership on AS9100 Standards
• Follow up on corrective action plans for compliance
• Verify CAR Effectiveness Checks to close out CARs
• Facilitate resolution of significant or cross-functional CARs.
• Maintain audit-ready records and support other teams with CAR processes and best practices.
• Assist audit teams for compliance and effectiveness.
• Liaise cross-functionally to align reporting standards and drive continuous improvement
• Provide and receive constructive feedback
• Act as the sole QMS representative to external customers on site (DCMA)

Responsibilities:

• Lead and drive quality improvement initiatives across the production lifecycle.
• Plan, conduct, and lead internal and external quality audits.
• Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues.
• Design and refine processes and mechanisms to enhance product quality and efficiency.
• Mentor and train junior engineers and production staff on quality standards and processes.
• Analyze quality data and metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with suppliers to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
• Ensure all activities comply with relevant industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ Years experience as a Quality Engineer or in a related field.
• Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 6 years of related experience is required.
• Knowledge and utilization of AS9100, ISO 9001 and other applicable Military and statutory standards and specifications.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality management systems (QMS).
• Strong leadership and project management skills.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Experience with aircraft modifications and defense contracts.
• Certified Auditor or equivalent experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Good computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite and database experience.
• Power BI experience
• Safety oriented
• Experience participating in external audits as guide.
• Self Motivated, capable of working unsupervised for long periods
• Experience with Octave/ETQ software to manage schedule goals
• Ability to influence operation leaders and touch labor
• Ability to mentor QMS Principles to cross functional area leaders

Essential Functions:

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs regularly.
• Requirement to be on feet for a significant portion of the work shift.
• Majority of work hours spent on a computer.
• Hand/finger dexterity for using testing and inspection tools.
• Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.
• Occasional travel may be required for audits and supplier visits.
