Do you enjoy collaborating with others to create innovative products and services? As a Manufacturing Engineer II, you will take an active role in shaping the manufacturability of our products. You will apply your expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), tooling design, and process engineering to develop and optimize manufacturing systems, ensuring products are designed for efficient, high-quality production from the start.The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains - air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain detailed work instructions and process documentation.
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing products.
  • Collaborate with design and quality teams to ensure product designs are manufacturable and meet quality standards.
  • Design and implement production tooling and fixtures.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for manufacturing issues.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement projects.
  • Develop and optimize manufacturing processes, including production flow, workstation layout, and material handling.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering Discipline.
  • 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or process engineering.
  • Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
  • Proficiency with computer-aided design (CAD) software and process documentation.
  • Knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
  • Familiarity working in multi-disciplinary teams.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma certification.
  • Experience with advanced manufacturing technologies (e.g., 3D printing, CNC machining).
  • Background in Aerospace and Defense industry.
  • Familiarity in applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5.
  • Knowledge industry standard design principles, to include, but not limited to, parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processes.
  • Participation in dispositions of Non-Conformance generation through a Material Review Board (MRB).
  • Experience with new product introduction and transition to production.
  • Exposure to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systems.
  • Circuit card assembly component troubleshooting, repair, or assembly
  • Understanding of ESD prevention measures
  • Knowledge of RF circuitry design and working principles
  • Experience working in the electronics industry

Essential Functions:

  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel.
