Production Supervisor

Position Summary

The Production Supervisor provides leadership, direction, and guidance to production employees while supporting safe, efficient, and consistent plant operations. This position coordinates daily production activities, staffing, schedules, documentation, inventory needs, equipment performance, and employee development.

Salary Range DOE: $79,473- 99,349

Key Responsibilities

· Supervise daily production activities and coordinate the work of employees involved in processing and production operations.

· Prepare and provide production reports to support process improvement.

· Coordinate work schedules, staffing requirements, and production sequences to maximize productivity.

· Participate in recruiting, hiring, training, performance evaluations, promotions, transfers, and disciplinary actions as needed.

· Maintain inventory records and request ingredients and supplies necessary to meet production and delivery schedules.

· Evaluate materials and finished products to ensure company standards are maintained.

· Troubleshoot and resolve process, equipment, and material issues in partnership with machine operators and support personnel.

· Review and finalize production paperwork, including production reports, work orders, safety and sanitation documents, and quality records.

· Coach and develop employees while consistently enforcing process controls, policies, and procedures.

· Train employees on the safe and effective operation of production equipment.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

· High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

· At least one year of production experience or a combination of leadership and production experience.

· At least one year of leadership experience or relevant manufacturing leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

· Two years of production experience.

· Two years of leadership experience.

· Knowledge of food safety practices, including HACCP, GMPs, SOPs, SSOPs, and SQF.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

· Ability to become forklift and pallet jack certified.

· Understanding of quality standards, SSOPs, prerequisite programs, and HACCP requirements.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.

· Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure while meeting deadlines.

· Strong problem-solving, communication, and team leadership skills.

· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment

· Ability to work overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and any shift as business needs require.

· Ability to work in temperatures ranging from approximately 35°F to 95°F, with occasional exposure to higher temperatures.

· Exposure to manufacturing equipment, chemicals, airborne particles, and varying noise levels within a production environment.

Physical Requirements

· Regular standing and repetitive use of hands and fingers.

· Frequent walking and reaching overhead.

· Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

· Ability to lift at least 10 pounds.

· Ability to maintain visual focus, depth perception, and color recognition required for production operations.
