Engineer, Security & System

• Monitor the building`s security and safety systems, including:

  • Alarm system and related signals;

  • CCTV monitors and video recorders;

  • Silent duress alarms; and

  • Access control system.

• Ensure that, after working hours, all security protection devices are electronically monitored.

• Monitor and control shipping and receiving activities, including activation of the outer door.

• Ensure that occupied Restricted Areas contain a minimum of two authorized employees.

• Maintain card access activity records for at least 3 months.

• Maintain a control log for duress button activations.

• Ensure that camera and video requirements are properly implemented.

• Ensure that all emergency exits remain alarm-contact protected 24 hours a day.

• Test all exit-door alarms every other month and retain the testing records for a minimum of one year.

• Ensure that batteries for local alarms are replaced annually.

• Control the issuance of keys for Restricted Areas and maintain the related issuance records.

• Ensure dual control of all master and spare keys.

• Regularly check all exterior lighting to ensure proper functioning at all times.

• Apply the alarm system testing procedures and take appropriate action to reset the system in case of failure.

• Ensure that the semi-annual security device inspection is conducted as scheduled.

• Carry out any other task assigned by management to support departmental goals and business continuity.
