Full stack software developer

Raizcorp is looking for a mid-to-senior full stack software developer to join its growing development team. The role may be remote (within South Africa), although you must be willing to visit Raizcorp's head office from time to time.

The role

This is a hands-on full-stack role working across four related applications. You’ll spend time extending and maintaining a large, mature multi-tenant SaaS platform, while also contributing to newer Laravel applications that are modernising legacy systems and introducing newer patterns. The work ranges from everyday product development and bug fixing to database changes, integrations, testing, documentation and occasional client-facing UAT support. You’ll need to be comfortable understanding an existing system before changing it, while also being able to build new functionality from a PRD or client brief.

What you'll do

• Build and maintain production features across Laravel, Vue 3 and TypeScript applications, working across both backend and frontend code where required.
• Work with Eloquent models, complex relationships, policies, queues, background jobs and database queries, with attention to performance and tenant data isolation.
• Develop new functionality in both an established SaaS platform and newer applications, following existing architectural patterns rather than introducing unnecessary complexity.
• Design and implement database changes, including safe migrations and data operations in PostgreSQL, with occasional work involving legacy SQL Server and Microsoft Access data.
• Write and maintain automated unit, feature and browser tests, and investigate failures as part of normal development rather than treating testing as a separate phase.
• Work through a PR-based development process: clarify requirements from briefs and PRDs, create focused changes, participate in code review and provide appropriate changelog entries.
• Produce practical technical documentation, including build notes, architecture decisions and documentation of non-obvious behaviour, so that important system knowledge does not remain only in code.
• Support client-facing UAT by preparing test scenarios and seeded data, helping explain changes and resolving issues identified during acceptance testing.

What you'll need

• Solid commercial experience developing applications with PHP and Laravel, including Eloquent, queues, authorisation, migrations and automated testing.
• Production experience with Vue 3 and TypeScript, ideally using Inertia.js or a similar server-driven application architecture.
• Good relational database skills, preferably PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimisation and safe production data changes.
• Experience writing automated tests with Pest or PHPUnit as a normal part of development.
• Comfort working in a large existing codebase: reading and understanding existing behaviour before making changes, and following established patterns.
• Experience with Git and pull-request-based development, including reviewing other developers’ work and responding constructively to review feedback.
• Strong written communication and the ability to discuss requirements and technical issues clearly with non-technical stakeholders.
• A practical approach to development: knowing when to investigate further, when to ask questions and when a smaller change is safer than a large refactor.

• Filament v3/v4 and Livewire.
• Multi-tenant SaaS architecture and tenant-aware queues/caching.
• Tailwind CSS v4, PrimeVue, SurveyJS, CKEditor, AG Grid or similar rich frontend components.
• Domain-Driven Design and state-machine based domain models; ability to read F# is useful but not required.
• Legacy data migration, particularly SQL Server / Microsoft Access to PostgreSQL.
• LLM/AI feature integration, including tool-calling agents and prompt design.
• Laravel Herd, Laravel Cloud, Laravel Forge and GitHub Actions.
• Firebase Authentication, AWS S3, Redis and Laravel Horizon.
• Experience in business-development, entrepreneurship or ed-tech software.
