What You'll Do: 

Primary Responsibilities Include: 

• Contribute to the full lifecycle design of security-focused products, from concept through production. 
• Analyze cross-functional tradeoffs between design alternatives, including impact on performance, schedule, cost, risk, complexity, and scale, and raise them to senior engineers or leads. 
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical, firmware, industrial design, sourcing, and product management. 
• Support the product development process from early-stage concept, through prototyping, testing, and production, helping ensure products meet requirements, cost, and schedule targets. 
• Develop and execute prototype testing, including designing test strategies to validate product performance and help resolve issues. 
• Participate in design reviews and discussions with suppliers and global manufacturing partners to help optimize designs for mass production. 
• Flag resource or knowledge gaps to leads and engage the right subject-matter experts when needed. 
• Support communication and design execution with global manufacturing partners. 
• Contribute to the Technical Requirements Document in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Support product architecture and system-level design work, ensuring alignment with product requirements, performance goals, and cross-functional constraints. 
• Translate system requirements into detailed, actionable tasks and deliverables for your own scope of work. 
• Support risk identification and mitigation activities within your area of the program. 
• Stay current with emerging technologies, sensors, and manufacturing processes to inform product design. 
• Drive your own workstreams forward with a reasonable sense of urgency.

What You'll Bring: 

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. 
• 2+ years of relevant industry experience, ideally including some exposure to consumer products. 
• Familiarity with optimizing designs for battery operation with low power usage. 
• Experience contributing to the design and development of complex systems, from concept toward mass production. 
• Exposure to design validation planning, including test coverage across electrical, RF, connectivity, audio, or imaging subsystems. 
• Ability to work effectively both as a systems-level contributor and as a hands-on technical contributor. 
• Experience in embedded systems design, including design with UART, SPI, I2C, USB, Ethernet, SDIO, MIPI, etc. 
• Familiarity with RF technologies including Sub-GHz, WiFi, and BLE. 
• Strong preference for candidates with a demonstrated bias for action. 
• Travel:  Willing to travel to our manufacturing partners in China 1-3 times per year

The target annual base pay range for this role is $84,900 to $113,200.

This target annual base pay range represents our good-faith estimate of what we expect to pay for this role. We use a market-based compensation approach to set our target annual base pay ranges and make adjustments annually. We carefully tailor individual compensation packages, including base pay, taking into consideration employees’ job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and other relevant business factors.
