You will be working in the HR Enabling Function based in Leavesden in where we are responsible for designing and delivering talent, learning and inclusion programmes that attract, develop and retain the people who make our projects possible. We are currently looking for a HR Business Partner (6-Month FTC) to join our team on a fixed-term contract. In this role, you will act as a trusted HR Business Partner, providing strategic and operational people support to the Building Operating Unit within the Regional Business, as well as the Finance Enabling Function.

As the HR Business Partner - 6 Month FTC, you will:

  • Demonstrate role modelling of, and be ambassador for, HR business partnering across the Operating Unit and individual projects.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of how the Operating Unit projects are commercially viable and add value through people related activities. Utilise people data to measure and improve project performance.
  • Support the HR Director with resource forecasting for the Operating Unit to understand future requirements and implement strategies to address.
  • Drive the Operating Unit talent review processes, and work with leaders to ensure robust succession plans are in place for key roles across multiple time horizons.
  • Ensure that talent is identified, developed and retained on a consistent basis in a proactive way to enable business continuity and future capability.
  • Effectively champion the Operating Unit engagement survey and outputs to leverage engagement levels and work with leaders on areas which require intervention.

We are looking for:

  • Proven experience of delivery and a track record in the key areas of generalist HR including business partnering experience, coaching senior leaders and line managers through people related matters.
  • A thorough and up to date knowledge of employment law, and experience of practical application of this in a complex business environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and excellent spoken and written communication skills
  • Excellent influencing and stakeholder management skills with a track record of building credible relationships.
  • Resilient - able to face challenges proactively and comfortable dealing with senior management of the organisation.
  • Able to work as part of a team; demonstrates the ability to network effectively up, down and across the business.
  • Knowledge or previous experience in a project based construction business with a clear understanding of the challenges faced in this environment.
  • MCIPD qualified is desirable
