In partnership with National Highways, we’re shaping the future of travel at the A47 Thickthorn junction. Two new free-flowing slip roads will ease congestion and improve connections between the A47 and A11 - saving commuters and businesses hundreds of hours every week.
You will be working in the Infrastructure OU based in Norwich in where we are responsible for bringing design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide - combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.
We are currently looking for a Site Engineer who will effectively and professionally monitor and supervise site works including subcontract packages. Deliver in accordance with company procedures, programme requirements and project specifications.
As the Site Engineer, you will:
- Communicate effectively with other engineers, supervisors, enabling functions, designers, and client representatives.
- Write and review Temporary Works Design Briefs, assess temporary works designs, and ensure compliance with design specifications and drawings, raising queries and challenges.
- Contribute to the weekly 4-week lookahead programme for your work area and collaborate with the Section Engineer and supervisors to identify and resolve any clashes with other site activities.
- Review the supply chain application for payments for your Package.
- Maintain accurate quality records in the Common Data Environment (CDE), support Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and promptly report and close out non-conformances.
- Carry out regular safety inspections and implement recommended courses of action as identified from progress monitoring and management inspections.
We are looking for:
- Degree level qualification in a Civil Engineering allied subject or HND in Civil Engineering and vocational training in Engineering. Working towards or in possession of Professional Industry Qualification (IEng, CEng etc.).
- Experience in delivering major Highways schemes and using engineering surveying tools.
- Knowledge and understanding of engineering principles and common construction methodologies, contracts, temporary works, design and management.
- Formal training in Health & Safety and Environmental management (SMSTS, SEATS).
- CSCS Card.
- Full UK drivers licence is required for our highways projects.
