  • Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines to enable fast, reliable, and repeatable software delivery.
  • Deploy, manage, and support containerised workloads using Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, and related technologies.
  • Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to ensure platform health, availability, and performance.
  • Apply security, networking, and operational best practices across cloud and platform environments.
  • Work closely with software engineers, architects, and operational teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and cost-effective solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve platform, infrastructure, and application issues, driving root cause analysis and continuous improvement.

  • Create and maintain clear technical documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge-sharing materials.
  • Support platform operations through participation in an on-call rota.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry best practices, helping shape the team's future direction and capabilities.

Essential Criteria:

  • Proven experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering or Infrastructure Engineering, supporting and operating production-grade cloud environments.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), using tools such as Terraform, Ansible or Pulumi, with a good understanding of cloud architecture, networking, security and operational best practices.
  • Experience designing, building and maintaining CI/CD and GitOps-based deployment pipelines, using technologies such as Jenkins, Concourse, GitHub Actions, ArgoCD or FluxCD.
  • Strong Linux/Unix administration and troubleshooting skills, together with experience developing infrastructure automation using Python, Bash or comparable scripting languages.
  • Hands-on experience deploying and operating containerised platforms, particularly Kubernetes and Docker, including implementation of monitoring, logging and alerting solutions within production environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and work effectively within collaborative, cross-functional engineering teams.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field. (Not essential if you have related experience or aptitude)
  • Relevant certifications from AWS
  • Advanced scripting knowledge with proven development experience
