Veeva CRM Consultant

This is a hands-on technical role responsible for developing, integrating, testing, and supporting solutions across Veeva Vault CRM and the broader commercial technology ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have strong Vault CRM development capabilities combined with enterprise integration experience and will be comfortable working across both Vault and external integration technologies. The role will work closely with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, client IT teams, Veeva, and third-party vendors throughout design, development, testing, deployment, and cutover.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, configure, and test integrations between Veeva Vault CRM and upstream/downstream enterprise applications.
• Develop and troubleshoot Vault CRM custom functionality and integration components, including Vault SDK code, triggers, custom actions, APIs, and supporting integration logic.
• Analyse existing IQVIA OCE/Salesforce integrations, customisations, data flows, and interface dependencies and determine the appropriate implementation approach for Vault CRM.
• Develop and support REST/API, batch, and file-based integrations across CRM and the broader commercial application landscape.
• Work with Solution Architects and Business Analysts to translate functional and technical requirements into detailed integration designs, mappings, and technical specifications.
• Develop and maintain field mappings, transformation rules, validation logic, error handling, reconciliation, and monitoring processes.
• Support data extraction and transformation activities associated with the migration from OCE to Vault CRM.
• Develop and execute unit testing and support System Integration Testing (SIT), UAT, regression testing, mock migrations, and cutover rehearsals.
• Troubleshoot integration failures, API issues, data discrepancies, custom-code defects, performance issues, and environment-related problems.
• Coordinate technical dependencies and issue resolution across Veeva, client technology teams, and third-party application owners.
• Support deployment, production cutover, hypercare, and post-go-live stabilisation.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including interface specifications, data mappings, technical designs, deployment instructions, and operational runbooks.

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with Veeva Vault CRM and the Veeva Vault Platform.
• Hands-on experience with Vault APIs, VQL, Vault Query API, Vault Java SDK, Java development, triggers, custom actions, and custom code.
• Strong understanding of the Vault CRM data model, objects, security, authentication, and integration patterns.
• Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting REST APIs and web services.
• Strong experience with Java, JSON, XML, OAuth, and API authentication mechanisms.
• Hands-on experience using Postman or similar API development and testing tools.
• Strong SQL skills for data analysis, transformation validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience developing and supporting SFTP, CSV/flat-file, scheduled, and batch integrations.
• Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise integration technology such as MuleSoft, Boomi, Informatica, Azure Integration Services, or equivalent.
• Experience with Git and source-control/deployment practices.
• 5+ years of integration and application development experience, preferably within pharmaceutical or life sciences environments.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience developing solutions and integrations involving Veeva Vault or Vault CRM.
• Experience working across both application-level development and enterprise integrations, rather than solely middleware development.
• Experience analysing existing interfaces and determining how integrations should be redesigned, migrated, or repointed as part of a CRM transformation.
• Experience supporting complex integration testing, defect resolution, deployment, cutover, and production stabilisation.
• Ability to independently troubleshoot technical issues across applications, APIs, middleware, data, and custom code.
• Experience working in complex multi-vendor delivery environments.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience with an IQVIA OCE to Veeva Vault CRM migration.
• Hands-on understanding of the IQVIA OCE/Salesforce data model, APIs, integrations, and customisations.
• Experience with Salesforce Apex and SOQL sufficient to analyse existing OCE customisations and integration logic.
• Experience with commercial pharmaceutical data and processes, including HCP/HCO, territory alignment, products, call/activity data, consent, content, and reference data.
• Experience integrating CRM with commercial data warehouses, analytics platforms, marketing platforms, and other enterprise applications.
• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data platforms.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, JIRA, or similar development and release management tools.
• Experience supporting global CRM implementations or migrations.
• Understanding of life sciences compliance, validation, documentation, and release-management expectations.
