THE PROFILE
Install, configure, maintain, and monitor database servers and related systems.
Manage Microsoft SQL Server databases, including performance tuning, query optimization, and troubleshooting.
Implement and monitor database backup, restoration, and disaster recovery procedures.
Ensure database security through access control, permissions management, and regular security reviews.
Monitor database performance, availability, storage capacity, and resource utilization.
Manage database upgrades, patches, and approved production changes in accordance with IT policies and procedures.
Investigate and resolve database-related incidents and coordinate with application and infrastructure teams.
Maintain database documentation, operational records, and audit trails.
Support business continuity, disaster recovery testing, and compliance requirements.

A Bachelor's degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in database administration, preferably in a Microsoft SQL Server environment.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL stored procedures, indexing, and query optimization.
Practical experience in database backup and recovery, performance monitoring, and disaster recovery.
Good understanding of database security, access management, and change management procedures.
Knowledge of Windows Server environments and high-availability database solutions will be an added advantage.
Relevant professional certifications in database administration will be an advantage.
