Senior/Lead Full Stack Engineer

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Senior Full-stack Engineer, you will develop and maintain enterprise-grade web applications for a large European public institution. Working across frontend, backend, databases, and cloud environments, you will help deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing digital solutions while contributing to architecture decisions, software quality, and the continuous evolution of critical business systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain full-stack web applications, covering frontend architecture, backend services, database integrations, and API development.
• Build responsive, accessible, user-friendly interfaces while ensuring optimal performance and cross-browser and cross-device compatibility.
• Implement and enhance core business functionality using Java and modern development frameworks to deliver reliable, scalable software solutions.
• Design, develop, and secure RESTful APIs and web services, enabling seamless integration between applications and business systems.
• Apply security and data management best practices, including authentication, authorization, input validation, secure data storage, logging, and monitoring.
• Analyze application performance, troubleshoot defects, identify improvement opportunities, and implement effective technical solutions.
• Perform unit and integration testing, validate code changes, maintain code quality standards, and ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications in cloud environments using CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies, while producing clear technical documentation and supporting long-term maintainability.

REQUIREMENTS

• Expert-level experience with Java and the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Hibernate
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and modern frontend frameworks such as Angular
• Proven experience designing, building, securing, and maintaining RESTful APIs and web services
• Advanced knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL and Oracle, including schema design, performance tuning, and query optimization
• Hands-on experience with event-driven architectures and asynchronous processing using Kafka
• Experience deploying and operating applications in cloud environments using CI/CD pipelines and containerization technologies
• Master’s degree with 10-15 years of professional IT experience, or Bachelor’s degree with 12-17 years of relevant experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and drive continuous improvement
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with English proficiency at B2 level or higher and experience working effectively within international, cross-functional teams
