S&P Global is an American financial information company whose oldest predecessor was founded in 1860, and which took its present form through the 2022 merger with IHS Markit. Its most profitable business is the credit rating agency S&P Global Ratings, alongside market data and analytics through Market Intelligence, the index business behind the S&P 500, commodity price assessments through Platts, and Mobility, which owns the Carfax vehicle history service. Headquartered in New York and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it earns most of its revenue from subscriptions and recurring fees rather than transaction-linked ratings work.

The Team:

This is an outstanding opportunity to join the world's leading price reporting agency for energy and commodities markets as it continues to strengthen its global presence. Customers in more than 150 countries rely on our expertise in news, pricing, and analytics to bring greater transparency and efficiency to commodity markets.

  • Lead the development, enhancement, and implementation of price assessment methodologies and benchmark initiatives across commodity sectors.
  • Partner with commodity leadership and market reporting teams to ensure consistent application of methodology, strong editorial governance, and adherence to Platts Editorial Standards.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and strategic guidance on market developments, emerging opportunities, and evolving trading practices that may impact benchmark assessments.
  • Serve as a key stakeholder in resolving methodology, assessment, and benchmark-related issues, including supporting complaint investigations, price reviews, and governance processes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including market participants, industry groups, Commercial, Product, Technology, and Market Development teams, to support market engagement, methodology consultation, and market education initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement through training, mentoring, documentation management, and best-practice development to strengthen market reporting capabilities across global commodity teams.
