S&P Global is an American financial information company whose oldest predecessor was founded in 1860, and which took its present form through the 2022 merger with IHS Markit. Its most profitable business is the credit rating agency S&P Global Ratings, alongside market data and analytics through Market Intelligence, the index business behind the S&P 500, commodity price assessments through Platts, and Mobility, which owns the Carfax vehicle history service. Headquartered in New York and listed on the New York Stock Exchange, it earns most of its revenue from subscriptions and recurring fees rather than transaction-linked ratings work.

About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use):

09

The Team:

The S&P Dow Jones Indices sales team supports clients across the full commercial journey from first request through contract execution, entitlement and onboarding, and ongoing renewals working closely with Sales, Client Services, Finance, Product, and Legal to deliver a smooth client experience. You'll join a collaborative, fast-paced group where we share information openly, prioritize team outcomes, and look for practical ways to improve how we work.

The Impact:

In this role, you will help sales move faster and more accurately by owning key deal operations, spotting issues early, and keeping stakeholders aligned. Your attention to detail, ability to manage multiple priorities, and proactive communication will directly influence client satisfaction, renewal outcomes, and overall sales execution quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the full sales cycle by processing sales deals and client requests accurately and on time (including licensing, entitlement, billing, renewals, and account maintenance).

  • Partner with Sales to respond to and process inquiries in Salesforce, using clear guidelines while applying good judgment to resolve varied, non-routine issues.

  • Manage agreement drafting and support negotiations by coordinating inputs across Sales and Legal, clarifying requirements, and keeping next steps moving.

  • Collaborate with Finance, Product Management, Data Product Management, Client Services, Pricing Governance, and Legal to remove blockers, improve workflows, and raise quality through continuous improvement.

  • Deliver excellent service to enhance customer satisfaction and adoption within existing accounts by actively listening, understanding the "why" behind requests, and communicating updates clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Hold weekly meetings with Sales Representatives to share KPIs, highlight risks, prioritize actions, and align on team goals.

  • All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.

Required Qualifications:

  • An S&P Global employee at this level would typically have 2+ years of experience in client services, sales support, or similar client-facing role.

  • Fluency in English and Italian.

  • Proficiency with MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and Salesforce.

  • Strong organization and time-management skills-able to track multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and focus first on the highest-impact work.

  • Clear, confident communication skills-able to translate and clarify sales/process information for different audiences.

  • Collaborative mindset and emotional intelligence-actively listens, seeks to understand other perspectives, and builds trust with Sales and partner teams.

  • Proactive, improvement-oriented approach-looks for ways to raise quality, reduce friction, and support team goals beyond assigned tasks.

  • We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience supporting deal processes across licensing/contracting, entitlements, billing, and renewals.

  • Experience with Tableau or Power BI.

  • Additional European language skills.

  • Comfort operating in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities, resourceful, solution-oriented, and able to adapt approach using past experience and available information.
