SpaceNexus is a space industry intelligence platform run by SpaceNexus LLC that tracks launches, satellites, space stocks, funding rounds, contract awards and news for investors, engineers and analysts. The service, launched in 2026, offers profiles of more than 370 space companies, newsletters, an API, embeddable widgets and a space jobs section that aggregates openings from firms such as Planet and Varda Space Industries. Its job feed therefore lists third-party roles in spacecraft engineering, manufacturing, software, legal and operations rather than positions at SpaceNexus itself.

Why LeoLabs?

At LeoLabs, we’re building the living map of activity in space. Through our proprietary global radar network and AI-enabled analytics platform, we collect millions of measurements daily on more than 25,000 objects in low Earth orbit (LEO). Our radar-powered intelligence protects billions in assets, monitors adversarial behavior, and ensures safe operations for commercial and government missions.

We’re not just building technology, we are redefining global security, safety, and transparency in space. As orbital activity accelerates and threats grow more complex, LeoLabs is a trusted partner for Space Domain Awareness, Space Traffic Management, and Satellite Operations for top-tier space operators and allied defense organizations.

If you're looking to work on mission-critical challenges at the forefront of aerospace, national security, and AI, your impact starts here.

The Opportunity

We are hiring a Materials Planner on the Radar Supply Chain Management team to drive production material readiness in support of LeoLabs’ radar manufacturing and deployment schedules.

This role translates production priorities and approved BOM requirements into clear, actionable material-readiness plans. The Materials Planner will determine what can be picked from existing inventory, what must be purchased, and what discrepancies or open actions could prevent Production from starting on schedule.

The Materials Planner will own BOM scrubs, kit-readiness reporting, production shortage visibility, and Material Movement coordination. This role will work closely with Production and Warehouse to validate pick readiness, with Purchasing to communicate buy requirements and urgent shortages, with Engineering to confirm BOM readiness, and with the Senior Supply Chain Planner to translate project-level readiness into detailed production material actions.

Because LeoLabs operates with a foundational NetSuite environment, this role requires advanced Excel capability. The Materials Planner must be able to combine ERP exports, BOM data, inventory balances, open purchase orders, and production requirements into reports that clearly dictate tasks across the Supply Chain team.

This role does not own routine NetSuite inventory transactions or overall project-level forecasting. Its primary accountability is ensuring Production has timely, accurate visibility into material readiness and that shortages have clear owners and recovery actions.

You will be responsible for:

Support NPI, production ramp, and continuous process improvement by establishing scalable BOM scrub, shortage-management, kit-readiness, and material-planning processes as products transition into Production.

Develop and maintain Excel- and ERP-based planning reports and tools that provide visibility into kit readiness, shortages, open supply, purchasing requirements, and unresolved material actions.

Partner with Production and the Senior Supply Chain Planner to translate build schedules and project priorities into detailed material-readiness actions and communicate material risks and recovery dates.

Partner with Engineering to identify and resolve BOM discrepancies, revision issues, missing part numbers, quantity discrepancies, and other issues affecting material planning.

Partner with Purchasing to communicate procurement requirements, monitor incoming supply and ETAs, support urgent material needs, and escalate shortages that could impact production.

Coordinate Material Movement and pick readiness with Warehouse and Inventory teams to ensure available material is properly identified and ready to support Production.

Categorize material requirements into actionable statuses such as Clear to Pick, Purchasing Required, Engineering Action Required, or Supply Chain Action Required.

Identify, maintain, and communicate production shortages and material risks, including required quantities, need dates, responsible owners, recovery plans, and expected resolution dates.

Perform BOM scrubs and kit-readiness analysis by comparing build requirements against inventory, allocated material, open purchase orders, and incoming supply.

Own production material readiness for assigned builds and programs, ensuring material requirements are aligned with production priorities and schedules.

Qualifications

Experience in materials planning, production planning, supply planning, inventory planning, or manufacturing supply chain; experience in electronics, aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing preferred.

Strong experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs), including multi-level BOMs and subassemblies, and performing BOM scrubs or material-readiness analysis.

Experience supporting production kitting, shortage management, and material readiness across active manufacturing builds.

Strong understanding of the relationship between production schedules, BOM demand, inventory availability, open supply, and purchasing requirements.

Experience working cross-functionally with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, Inventory, Engineering, and Supply Chain Planning.

Experience with ERP/MRP systems; NetSuite experience preferred but not required.

Advanced Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, conditional logic, data validation, and reconciliation of large data sets.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to combine multiple data sources, identify discrepancies, and translate findings into clear Supply Chain actions.

Basic purchasing/procurement experience, including familiarity with RFQs, purchase orders, supplier lead times, follow-up, and expedite requests.

Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and follow-through, with the ability to proactively identify and escalate material risks in a fast-paced or high-growth environment.

Within 1 month, you'll

Complete onboarding and gain an understanding of LeoLabs’ products, Supply Chain structure, production processes, NetSuite environment, and material flow.

Become familiar with LeoLabs’ BOM structures, production schedules, inventory locations, purchasing processes, and Warehouse operations.

Learn the existing BOM scrub, kit-readiness, Material Movement, and shortage-management processes.

Understand how Production, Engineering, Warehouse, Purchasing, Inventory, and Supply Chain Planning interact to support manufacturing.

Become familiar with existing Excel reports and data sources used to determine material readiness.

Within 3 months, you'll

Independently perform BOM scrubs for assigned production requirements.

Generate and maintain kit-readiness and shortage reports for upcoming production builds.

Identify material as Clear to Pick, Purchasing Required, or Action Required.

Work directly with Warehouse and Purchasing to drive shortage actions through resolution.

Maintain Material Movement Forms and ensure required actions have clear owners and due dates.

Identify BOM discrepancies and coordinate with Engineering to resolve issues affecting material planning.

Begin supporting urgent purchasing requirements that could impact production.

Partner with the Senior Supply Chain Planner on material readiness for active projects.

Within 6 months, you'll

Independently manage material readiness across multiple production builds or programs.

Provide Production and Supply Chain with clear visibility into kit status, shortages, purchasing requirements, and material risks.

Proactively identify shortages before they impact scheduled builds.

Manage BOM scrub demand and prioritize requests based on production requirements.

Develop and improve Excel-based material-planning reports that translate production demand into actionable tasks for Purchasing, Warehouse, and Inventory.

Drive shortage-resolution follow-up activities as needed.

Support NPI and production ramp by establishing material-readiness analysis for new and changing BOMs.

Provide backup purchasing support for urgent production requirements.

Within 12 months you'll

Serve as a key point of accountability for production material readiness across assigned programs.

Establish scalable BOM scrub, kit-readiness, Material Movement, and shortage-management processes.

Drive measurable improvements in material readiness and reduction of production delays caused by material shortages.

Establish reporting that provides clear visibility into upcoming shortages and required Supply Chain actions.

Improve coordination between Production, Warehouse, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory, and Supply Chain Planning.

Develop repeatable Excel-based planning tools that improve visibility beyond the capabilities of the current ERP environment.

Proactively identify material risks far enough in advance for Supply Chain to take corrective action before the production schedule is affected.
