Level Designer

AMC Studio is a world-leading 3D art and game development studio based in Bucharest, Romania, and part of the Keywords Studios international group. Founded in 1996 and with nearly 30 years of activity, AMC has provided 3D art services for major Triple-A titles such as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Call of Duty, Dead Space, World of Tanks, and the Mafia franchise. At the core of the studio is a passionate team of artists whose adaptability across art styles - from stylized to photorealistic - brings game worlds to life.

Responsibilities :

• Own the part of level plays in the overall game experience based on the creative director’s vision
• Work with other disciplines and precisely, level artists to ensure that the playability of the level and the graphic elements support each other
• Contribute and create level layouts
• Build, script, and tune levels to final quality
• Place and trigger entities (such as movers, objects, obstacles etc) to create fun and deep gameplay
• Oversee and maintain the design of levels by providing constant support and feedback to reach quality, core mechanics and vision
• Monitor and put your hands on accessibility, playability, and level of difficulty
• Develop topological and event continuity for levels
• Contribute to prototyping, scenario creation, event scripting, game balancing, pacing, and gameplay tuning
• Help the game to get better in quality through constant playtesting, feedback aggregation and separation of actionable items from non- actionable ones
• Work with other designers to develop and maintain a beat chart for game experience

Requirements

• Experience in Level Design; mastery of 3D level design tools
• Solid knowledge of game editors such as Unreal 4/5
• Strong creative skills
• A fine attention to quality and detail, both creatively and technically
• Understanding of gameplay densities and spaces and work with LA to unify all elements together
• Excellent organization and communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work self-directed when necessary
• Excellent knowledge of video game industry
• Ability to put oneself in player’s shoes
