Key Responsibilities
- Handle day-to-day accounting operations (expense reviews, journal entries, reconciliations)
- Take ownership of selected balance sheet accounts and ensure timely and accurate reconciliations
- Ensure compliant and efficient processing of expense claims and vendor invoices
- Take responsibility for specific areas of month-end and year-end closing
- Maintain general ledger integrity and proper documentation
- Manage corporate credit card program including reconciliation and policy compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams in Tokyo and regional finance teams
- Contribute to finance projects and process improvement initiatives
- Identify issues and proactively propose improvements in accounting processes
- Perform other ad hoc tasks as required

Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Nissho Bookkeeping Certification (Level 2 or above preferred)
- CPA qualification is a plus
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in accounting or finance operations, including exposure to month-end close
- Familiarity with internal control framework is preferred
- Self-starter with a positive and collaborative attitude
Skills & Knowledge
Must-have
- Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (IFRS or JGAAP)
- Business-level proficiency in English
- Native-level proficiency in Japanese (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Strong Excel skills
- Knowledge of Japanese consumption tax and withholding tax
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
Nice-to-have
- ERP experience (SAP or similar)
- Expense systems (Concur etc.)
- Experience with internal control/compliance environment
- Strong analytical skills
