Springer Nature is a major global academic and educational publishing group headquartered in Berlin, Germany. Formed in 2015 through the merger of Springer Science+Business Media and the majority of Macmillan Science and Education (including Nature Publishing Group), the company serves the scientific, technical, medical, and professional communities. Its portfolio features prestigious imprints such as Nature, Springer, Palgrave Macmillan, and Scientific American.

About the role

The way researchers discover, read and derive insight from academic literature is changing rapidly. As the volume of published research continues to grow, AI-powered tools are enabling validated findings, evidence and knowledge to be analysed and synthesised at unprecedented scale. This creates a pivotal moment in scholarly discovery: an opportunity to help researchers navigate an ever-expanding body of research more efficiently, uncover deeper insights across disciplines, and accelerate the journey from published evidence to new ideas, breakthroughs and real-world impact.

Springer Nature is seeking a Senior Product Manager to help lead the business through this transition. You will own the product strategy for how researchers read, understand and derive insight from the world-leading research and academic content published by Springer Nature, shaping the next generation of personalised scholarly experiences and delivering measurable user and business outcomes.

Our ambition is to make Springer Nature platforms the best place in the world to understand research, combining authoritative content and AI-powered insight generation to create exceptional user experiences and drive meaningful impact.

This is an Individual Contributor role, with opportunities to grow into management or more senior individual contributor roles over time.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Defining and delivering Springer Nature's AI-powered reading and understanding strategy, leading product discovery, experimentation and execution to create trusted, transparent and impactful research experiences
  • Shaping researcher workflows that move beyond content consumption to understanding, synthesis and knowledge creation, connecting Springer Nature content with broader context and supporting tasks such as literature review, evidence discovery and insight generation
  • Driving engagement, retention and commercial outcomes, owning success metrics and demonstrating measurable value across publishing and commercial models
  • Identifying and developing foundational platform capabilities that enable valuable user experiences, working with technology functions and other product teams to maximise return on investment
