Job Summary

Finance Director, Product & Engineering (m/f/d) is a senior finance leader within Stanley Black & Decker’s Stanley Engineered Fastening (SEF) Business Segment, directly partnering with VP Product Management and VP Engineering across the Industrial and Automotive verticals. This role leads financial planning, full product line P&L support, investment analysis, and performance management to drive profitable growth and disciplined resource allocation across SEF’s global product portfolio.

The job:

  • Serve as the lead finance business partner to Product and Engineering leadership, linking strategy to financial plans and performance actions.
  • Support the full product line P&L, including revenue, margin, operating income, and profitability drivers.
  • Partner on portfolio decisions, product line performance, and actions to improve growth and returns including cost-out governance.
  • Evaluate new product development and engineering investments through business cases, return analysis, and scenario modeling.
  • Support engineering productivity and resource allocation to align investment with strategic priorities.
  • Lead the Strategic Plan, Annual Operating Plan and forecast processes for Product and Engineering.
  • Provide financial leadership for SG&A and CAPEX planning tied to product and engineering priorities.
  • Develop KPIs and decision support that improve visibility to performance, investment effectiveness and execution.
  • Partner with FP&A and cross-functional leaders to connect product, engineering, and business performance.
  • Build organizational capability over time, including future team leadership as business needs evolve.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related degree
  • 10+ years of relevant financial work experience, with a focus on product development and engineering strategy
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to develop and maintain financial models
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution along with critical thinking, strong analytic and communication skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving and process improvement capabilities
  • Strong cross functional leadership skills and experience catalyzing change in a matrixed, international environment.
  • High business acumen and increased collaboration with both functional and business leaders, passion for change and doing things in new ways
  • The ability to quickly assess the operational efficiency of a functional group or process and prioritize improvement processes
  • Fluent German and English skills
