SALARY RANGE: $19,866.00 - $32,806.00

This position is permanent, part-time (20 hours per week).

The Office of the District Attorney, Prosecutorial District 7, seeks a qualified candidate to provide legal support services to the prosecutors in the Hertford County office. Duties include but are not limited to the following: answer phones; assist the public; type correspondence; prepare legal documents; prepare files; assist victims and witnesses understand and prepare for court; gather information to assist in the prosecution of cases; and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies:

Knowledge of: court system and procedures; legal terminology; and community resources to refer victims and witnesses.

Skill in: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint software; knowledge of Enterprise Justice/Odyssey, eWarrants, eDiscovery, and Axon is a plus; the ability to accurately type 45 wpm.

Ability to: interview to elicit information from victims and witnesses to assure appropriate services; coordinate and schedule the daily operations of the victim and witness program; manage the court appearances of victims and witnesses to ensure their presence in the courtroom when needed; communicate orally and in writing with persons of diverse backgrounds; establish and maintain effective working relationships with law enforcement officers, officials of related agencies and the general public; and calmly handle stressful situations.
