Product Transformation Coach - VP III - State Street Investment Management

As Product Coach, VP at State Street Investment Management (“State Street IM”, formerly known as State Street Global Advisors or SSGA), you will play a critical role in accelerating adoption of product-centric operating model. You will partner with business leaders, product managers, engineering and delivery teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to embed product management disciplines, customer-centric behaviors, and outcome-driven execution practices.

Reporting to the Managing Director, Lead for Product Transformation, you will provide hands-on coaching to pilot teams and leaders, develop reusable playbooks and learning programs, assess adoption barriers, and help scale sustainable behaviors across the organization. The role combines product management expertise, coaching capability, facilitation, and transformation experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Coach product leaders, product managers, and cross-functional teams on product management principles and product-centric Ways of Working.
• Guide teams in defining product vision, customer problems, value propositions, measurable outcomes, product strategies, roadmaps, and prioritization approaches.
• Help teams transition from project-oriented execution toward persistent product ownership, continuous planning, and end-to-end outcome accountability.
• Facilitate product discovery, prioritization, roadmap, operating model, and retrospective workshops that translate strategic intent into practical team action.
• Support product operating model pilots and scaling initiatives across business and technology organizations.
• Assess team maturity, adoption barriers, role clarity, decision rights, and delivery friction; recommend targeted and practical improvements.
• Design and deliver role-based learning, workshops, playbooks, templates, office hours, and communities of practice.
• Coach executives and managers on leadership behaviors, empowerment with guardrails, team structures, accountability, and decision-making in a product-centric organization.
• Partner with the Product Transformation team to support governance, change management, communications, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Help establish and track adoption metrics, team health indicators, product outcomes, and continuous-improvement measures.
• Gather feedback from teams and leaders to refine the product operating model, coaching approach, and enablement assets.
• Support adoption of AI-enabled tools and modern product delivery practices while reinforcing responsible use, appropriate governance, and customer value.
• Promote a culture of experimentation, transparency, learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in product management, product coaching, transformation leadership, organizational effectiveness, agile coaching, or related disciplines, preferably within financial services.
• Demonstrated experience coaching cross-functional teams and leaders through adoption of product management practices and new ways of working.
• Strong working knowledge of product vision, discovery, customer research, value propositions, roadmaps, prioritization, OKRs, product metrics, and lifecycle management.
• Excellent facilitation, workshop design, coaching, mentoring, and stakeholder influence skills.
• Experience developing and delivering role-based training, playbooks, communities of practice, and capability-building programs.
• Ability to diagnose organizational and team barriers and translate observations into practical interventions and measurable improvements.
• Demonstrated ability to work across business, technology, operations, data, architecture, risk, and control functions in a matrixed environment.
• Experience supporting product operating model implementations, transformation pilots, or enterprise-scale adoption programs preferred.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled product development and modern product delivery tools and practices preferred.
• Product management, coaching, change management, Agile, or Scrum certifications preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, management, organizational development, technology, engineering, or a related field required; advanced degree or relevant industry certifications preferred.

Salary Range:

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
