Senior Software Engineer

We are looking for a curious, highly motivated Software Engineer to create the next generation of Sugar software products and tools. In this role you will be a member of a Scrum Team working as a software engineer utilizing modern technologies to develop components for various products with a strong emphasis on reliable, maintainable, and scalable solutions that run in high volume, high availability environments.

To be successful in this role you must be independent and be a quick learner with a can-do attitude and a willingness to work with new and emerging technologies. You will have stellar project organization and communication skills, a strong desire to collaborate with your peers, and work well in cross-functional teams.

**This role operates on a hybrid model, with a mix of remote work and in-office collaboration at our Craiova location, specifically, working in-office a minimum of 3 days per week.**

Impact You Will Make in the Role (Responsibilities):

• Take an AI-driven approach to software development, and use GAI tools across all stages of the SDLC to accelerate development and deliver high quality, performant, secure products
• Champion the use of GAI tools, and define workflows around their use as it pertains to all stages of the SDLC
• Produce clean, maintainable code following team standards and best practices
• Implement features or components of larger features
• Produce unit tests to verify functionality
• Identify and fix bugs prior to feature delivery
• Participate in code reviews and incorporate feedback from other team members
• Participate in scrum ceremony and deliver commitments according to estimates
• Provide technical leadership through mentoring team members, delivering product demonstrations, and offering guidance to both internal teams and external organizations

What You Will Bring (Qualifications):

• Experience and enthusiasm for using agentic coding tools and associated technologies (Cursor, CoPilot, Claude Code, MCP, etc.)
• 2+ years of experience with enterprise software development and/or distributed SaaS systems
• 2+ years of practical Object Oriented Programming
• 2+ years of software programming for the web
• 2+ years of experience with emerging languages and technologies
• 2+ years of experience with unit testing strategies and frameworks
• Experience with DevOps, AWS, and cloud services is a plus
• Experience with microservices, containers, and pipelines is a plus
• Experience with test automation is a plus
• Knowledge of, and experience with, creating and consuming RESTful APIs
• Knowledge of, and experience with, Advanced SQL and NoSQL data stores
• Experience in Agile software development methodologies
• Experience with Git, Jira, Jenkins and other agile tools a plus
• Excellent communication skills across a global cross-functional audience
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 2+ years relevant work experience
