What we need
The Cell Operator is responsible foroperating, monitoring, and maintainingSymbotic’sautomated adapters and supporting equipment to ensure optimalsystem readiness and performance. This role plays a key part in daily production by performing system checks, managing automated flow, troubleshooting stoppages, and using Human/Machine Interface (HMI) terminals to safely and efficiently operate equipment. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, mechanically inclined, and capable of supporting automation uptime in a fast-paced environment.
What you’lldo
Utilize HMI screens, system dashboards, and basic PLC status information to identifyequipment conditions and support troubleshooting efforts.
Monitor automated equipment and system performance to support safe and efficient operations.
Perform pre-operational checks to ensure equipment is ready for production.
Prepare pallets and materials for induction into the automated system.
Respond to equipment stoppages and system alerts by following established recovery procedures.
Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and comply withcompany, customer, and site safety requirements.
Support system uptime through suspect removal, equipment recovery, and basic troubleshooting activities.
Identify, document, and escalate equipment, system, or safety concerns.
Communicate production-impacting issues to operations and site leadership.
Perform routine cleaning, inspection, and housekeeping activities to maintainequipment readiness.
Assist Automation Technicians with troubleshooting and system recovery efforts as needed.
Recover robotic vehicles within the automation structure when required.
Maintain a clean, organized work area and follow 5S standards.
Use effective communication to coordinate work with team members and leadership.
Perform other duties as assigned.
What you’ll need
Technical training preferred(or equivalent work experiencewith automated equipment).
Minimum 1 year of experience in productionautomation, or warehouse environments.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
Proficiency in performing system maintenancetasks such as cleaning, lubricationandtolerance checking.
Ability to prioritize tasks to maximize uptime and throughput within an automated environment.
Demonstrated ability to work independently using procedures, manuals, and operational documentationand troubleshoot minor system issues.
Our Environment
Site-based position.
The employee is frequentlyrequired to walk and reach with hands and arms.
The employee frequentlyneeds to work at heights of up to 45 feet and in confined spaces as narrow as 24 inches. This includes tasks that require standing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must adhere to all safety requirements and protocols, including but not limited to Lockout/Tagout and fall protection safety protocols.
You will need to climb steep stairs to access the structure and may be requiredto regularly walk up and down stairs to navigate the automation setup.
You will regularly be near railings that are high off the ground.
Subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. Must be capable of working in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.
