Android Platform Test Engineer

The Android Platform Test Engineer will validate Android platform software, AOSP customizations, BSP integrations, and device-level features. You will ensure the quality, stability, performance, and reliability of Android-based products through comprehensive functional, integration, regression, and system testing. The role involves close collaboration with development teams to reproduce, verify, and track defects, and to support automation and CI/CD validation. This is a hybrid role based in Hyderabad.

Responsibilities

• Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing of Android devices.
• Validate Android Framework, HAL, Kernel, and custom AOSP features.
• Execute and maintain test plans, test cases, and validation reports.
• Analyze logs (Logcat, dmesg, tombstones, bug reports) and perform root cause analysis.
• Validate connectivity features including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, USB, and Cellular technologies.
• Test multimedia components such as Camera, Audio, Video, Display, and Graphics.
• Collaborate with development teams to reproduce, verify, and track software defects.
• Support automation, CI/CD validation, and release verification activities.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Android/AOSP Testing or Validation.
• Strong understanding of Android Architecture and AOSP components.
• Hands-on experience with ADB, Logcat, Bug Reports, and Linux commands.
• Experience in Functional, Regression, System, and Integration Testing.
• Good knowledge of Android Framework and HAL.
• Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA and with Git/Gerrit version control.
• Experience executing CTS, VTS, and GTS test suites.
• Proficiency in Python and Shell scripting; familiarity with Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
