Platforms-API Software Engineer

This role focuses on designing, developing, supporting, and enhancing enterprise API and integration solutions that power critical business capabilities. The successful candidate will build and maintain reliable, scalable, secure, and resilient integration platforms across cloud and on-premise environments. You will also provide L2/L3 production support and drive automation, Site Reliability Engineering practices, and continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with development, infrastructure, architecture, and operations teams to ensure high availability and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and support enterprise integration solutions using TIBCO BusinessWorks 5.x, 6.x, and BWCE
• Develop, secure, publish, and manage APIs using Apigee Edge on Google Cloud
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs, microservices, and integration services aligned to enterprise standards
• Design and implement messaging and event-driven integrations using TIBCO EMS and IBM MQ
• Build, deploy, and support containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes
• Provide L2/L3 production support, incident management, and root cause analysis to restore services quickly
• Implement observability with Datadog, including dashboards, alerts, distributed tracing, and performance analysis
• Support CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and release management using Maven, Jenkins, and GitLab
• Manage SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle activities across APIs, middleware, and platform components
• Develop automated testing frameworks using Cucumber and Behaviour-Driven Development

Requirements

• 4 to 8 years of hands-on software engineering experience in API and integration platforms
• Strong experience with TIBCO BusinessWorks (5.x, 6.x, BWCE) and Apigee Edge
• Proficiency in REST API design and development, SOAP services, XML, XSD, JSON, XPATH, and XSLT
• Solid programming and scripting skills in Core Java, Python, JavaScript, and Shell scripting
• Experience with TIBCO EMS, IBM MQ, and asynchronous or event-driven messaging patterns
• Working knowledge of API security including OAuth 2.0, JWT, mTLS, and OpenAPI / Swagger
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECR and EKS, Terraform, and Ansible
• Experience with Datadog, CI/CD tooling (Jenkins, GitLab, Maven), and production monitoring
