Project Mechanical Design Engineer

This role involves overseeing the mechanical design lifecycle for both static and rotary equipment within a chemical manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for managing engineering projects from conception through to procurement and construction, ensuring compliance with international and local industrial standards. The position requires a hands-on approach to mechanical design, equipment maintenance, and project execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design process for static and rotary equipment in chemical plant projects.
• Manage the full Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) cycle for mechanical systems.
• Ensure all designs adhere to international and Indian codes, standards, and Factory Rules.
• Coordinate with procurement and construction teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Oversee mechanical erection practices and provide technical support during site installation.
• Maintain compliance with PESO requirements and safety regulations for industrial equipment.
• Utilize ERP systems and document management controls to track project progress and technical documentation.
• Provide technical expertise for the maintenance and optimization of existing mechanical assets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in static and rotary equipment design within the chemical or process industry.
• Strong understanding of EPC/EPCM/PMC execution models.
• In-depth knowledge of international and Indian mechanical design codes and standards.
• Familiarity with Factory Rules and PESO regulatory requirements.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical erection practices and industrial maintenance.
• Proficiency in ERP systems and professional document management software.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle complex technical workflows.
