Senior Data Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to lead a large-scale BI modernization initiative. You will be responsible for transforming legacy reporting platforms into a modern, cloud-based analytics ecosystem while integrating advanced Generative AI capabilities. This role involves close collaboration with business stakeholders to design scalable data pipelines and deliver intelligent, AI-powered insights.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable data pipelines using Python, SQL, and Databricks.
• Build and optimize complex data models for advanced analytics and reporting.
• Develop Power BI semantic models, datasets, and executive-level dashboards.
• Implement AI and machine learning solutions to enhance business decision-making.
• Leverage Azure AI and OpenAI services to build intelligent analytics capabilities.
• Execute the migration of reporting assets from legacy BI platforms to Power BI.
• Ensure data quality, governance, lineage, and compliance standards are maintained.
• Optimize the performance of large-scale reporting and analytical workloads.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define KPIs and reporting requirements.

Requirements

• 8-12 years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, or AI Engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Python, SQL, and Databricks using PySpark.
• Extensive experience with Power BI, DAX, and semantic modeling.
• Proven track record in building ETL/ELT pipelines within Azure cloud environments.
• Experience with Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot, or Generative AI solutions.
• Familiarity with data governance tools such as Collibra or Microsoft Purview.
• Prior experience in the Banking or Financial Services domain is highly preferred.
• Experience with Tableau-to-Power BI migration initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to manage business stakeholders.
