Technical Engineer – Java 17/21, Spring Boot, Microservices, Kafka & IAM

Job Summary

Synechron is seeking a hands-on Technical Engineer to design, build, and operate distributed identity platforms using modern microservices architecture, cloud technologies, event-driven systems, and AI-assisted engineering practices. The role will lead the development and maintenance of Java-based microservices that support enterprise Identity and Access Management (IAM) capabilities, including authentication, authorization, entitlement, and customer access platforms. The Technical Lead Engineer will contribute across the full software delivery lifecycle, guide technical decisions, mentor engineers, and help establish engineering standards that improve security, scalability, reliability, and delivery quality.

Required Software Skills

• Java 17+/21: 12+ years of software engineering experience, including hands-on Java development.
• Spring Framework 6/7: Experience developing enterprise applications and microservices.
• Spring Boot 2.5/3.5: Experience building, deploying, and maintaining production-grade services.
• RESTful APIs: Strong experience with REST API design, development, documentation, and integration.
• Apache Kafka: Experience with event streaming, messaging, and event-driven service design.
• PostgreSQL: Experience with relational data modeling, querying, and application integration.

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate Java-based microservices supporting enterprise IAM capabilities.

Day-to-Day Activities

• Design, code, test, review, deploy, and operate Java microservices, REST APIs, event-driven services, and identity platform components.
• Collaborate with product owners, architects, security teams, and engineers through planning sessions, design reviews, stand-ups, and technical discussions.
• Deliver technical designs, production-ready code, automated tests, CI/CD changes, Infrastructure as Code, documentation, and performance or security improvements.
• Make implementation and design decisions within established standards, assess technical risks, guide engineers, and escalate issues that affect security, availability, scope, or delivery timelines.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience and technical achievement may be considered.
• 12+ years of software engineering experience with strong hands-on expertise in Java, microservices, distributed systems, and RESTful API development.
• Professional certifications in cloud computing, Java, security, architecture, or agile delivery are preferred but not required.
• Training in IAM, secure software development, cloud-native engineering, DevSecOps, Infrastructure as Code, event-driven architecture, and AI-assisted engineering is preferred.
• Maintain continuous professional development through relevant training, technical practice, knowledge sharing, and awareness of modern software engineering and security standards.
