DevOps Engineer

We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Kubernetes and containerised environments. The role focuses on building, deploying, and managing scalable applications using Kubernetes, while leveraging DevOps practices for automation and reliability. A solid foundation in operating systems, system administration, and networking is expected as secondary support skills.

Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage applications on Kubernetes clusters.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Containerise applications using Docker and manage the container lifecycle.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise Kubernetes workloads and cluster performance.
• Implement auto-scaling, rolling deployments, and self-healing mechanisms.
• Manage configurations, secrets, and service discovery in Kubernetes.
• Set up logging, monitoring, and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, etc. )
• Collaborate with development teams to improve deployment workflows.
• Ensure infrastructure security, patching, and compliance.

Secondary Responsibilities (Systems and Networking):

• Manage and maintain Linux-based operating systems.
• Perform system administration tasks (user management, disk, processes).
• Handle networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls).
• Troubleshoot OS-level and network-related issues.

Requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes (pods, deployments, services, ingress, scaling).
• Solid experience with Docker.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation with GitHub actions.
• Familiarity with scripting (Bash or Python).

Secondary Skills:

• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Good understanding of Linux operating systems.
• Knowledge of system administration fundamentals.
• Basic networking knowledge (HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TCP/IP).

Good to Have:

• Knowledge on Helm.
• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Ansible).
• Understanding of security best practices in Kubernetes.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Experience Level: 3 years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure roles with Kubernetes exposure.
