Role Summary
T. Rowe Price is seeking a Retirement Strategist to help advance the firm’s retirement leadership by developing differentiated insights, creating market-facing thought leadership, and engaging with clients and industry audiences on key retirement issues. This role will serve as both an external representative of the firm’s retirement expertise and an internal connector, bringing client and market perspectives back into the organization to help shape strategy, messaging, and priorities.
The Retirement Strategist will partner closely with distribution, marketing, research, product, and investment teams to support client engagement, strengthen the firm’s retirement narrative, and contribute to commercial objectives across retirement-related businesses and audiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver differentiated retirement research, insights, and thought leadership aligned to enterprise priorities and market opportunities.
- Create market-facing content and presentations on retirement topics for use with clients, prospects, and industry stakeholders.
- Represent the firm in client meetings, prospect discussions, conferences, and other external engagements as a retirement subject matter expert.
- Partner with distribution teams to support strategic client conversations, meeting opportunities, and capability positioning.
- Translate proprietary research, industry developments, and client feedback into clear, relevant, and actionable insights for internal and external audiences.
- Establish and maintain a feedback loop that captures market trends, client perspectives, and competitive intelligence to inform internal strategy and content development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners across marketing, product, research, and investments to ensure retirement messaging and content are timely, differentiated, and commercially relevant.
- Support the development of modular content tailored to a range of retirement audiences, including plan sponsors, consultants, and advisors.
- Contribute to the firm’s point of view on topics such as retirement income, participant behavior, target date solutions, fiduciary considerations, private assets in DC, and global retirement issues.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of related work experience supporting retirement.
- Significant experience in retirement, asset management, financial services.
- Deep knowledge of retirement topics, including defined contribution plan investments, plan design, participant behavior, retirement income and industry trends.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex topics clearly and effectively.
- Experience developing thought leadership, strategic content, presentations, or research-based materials.
- Demonstrated ability to engage credibly with institutional clients, prospects, and internal stakeholders.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across functions and teams.
- Commercial mindset and understanding of how insights and content can support business development and client engagement.
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to develop and maintain client relationships, deliver presentations, and support business growth initiatives.
Preferred:
- Experience working with or supporting distribution, institutional, intermediary, or retirement-focused client segments.
- Familiarity with US retirement market and retirement policy themes.
- Experience speaking at conferences, client events, or industry forums.
- Advanced degree or relevant professional designation preferred but not required.

Work Environment / Reporting
This role will work closely with partners across distribution, marketing, product, research, and investment teams. This role will report to Jessica Sclafani, Head of Retirement Strategist Team, and can be remote or in-person.

Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for full time remote work.
Base Salary Ranges

$143,000.00 - $245,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers$158,000.00 - $269,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$179,000.00 - $306,000.00 for the location of: New York, California
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus,which is determined upon company and individual performance.
