Experienced Full Stack Engineer

As a Fullstack Engineer on the Demand R&D team in our Tel Aviv office, you’ll play a vital role in building Taboola’s flagship recommendation products, from the backend services that decide which recommendations to serve to the ad formats and widgets that render them on publisher pages for billions of users.

You’ll build features end-to-end across the stack, develop innovative ad formats and high-scale backend services, and use big data and performance metrics to make engineering decisions that impact users, publishers, advertisers, and business performance.

To thrive in this role, you'll need:

• 3+ years of hands-on programming experience in fullstack development
• Hands-on AI - you use AI coding tools (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) as part of your daily development workflow
• Solid server-side development experience - Java or equivalent object-oriented language is a strong advantage
• Good understanding of vanilla JavaScript, CSS and HTML; React / TypeScript knowledge is an advantage
• Experience working with databases
• Team player, able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and an independent learner
• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent

Bonus points if you have:

• Good understanding of web fundamentals: HTTP methods & headers, CDN & DNS, how HTTP servers work
• Experience building high-scale or distributed backend systems (message queues, caching, concurrency)
• Experience with cross-browser and multi-device support - both responsiveness and feature support
• Experience building AI agents, custom skills or automated workflows on top of AI coding tools
• Familiarity with advanced "low-level" JavaScript/web concepts such as Event Loop, Performance API, XHR/JSONP, browser paint cycle
• Familiarity with any of the following: Web Components, Lighthouse, Maven, Docker, Kubernetes, BigQuery, MySQL, Grafana
• Familiarity with methodologies such as Agile, CI/CD, DevOps, TDD, SCRUM

How you’ll make an impact:

• Build features end-to-end: design and develop backend services alongside the client-side code that consumes them, and own them through testing, deployment, monitoring and maintenance
• Work on Taboola's recommendations ad formats serving and user experience - the backbone of the company's products, standing at the intersection of end-users, publishers and advertisers
• Develop and maintain a variety of new & innovative ad formats that reach billions of users and are used by thousands of advertisers (carousel, app install, video ads and many more)
• Develop high-scale backend services that serve billions of requests a day, with real emphasis on performance, resilience and observability
• Make professional decisions based on big data and performance metrics of billions of users, while putting emphasis on business & page performance KPIs
• Build AI agents, skills and workflows that multiply the team's capabilities - automated code reviews, data analysis, production anomaly investigation, feature validation and debugging
• Collaborate with the Product, Data and UX teams throughout the company to iterate on the design and implementation of our product
