At Tassal Group, we are dedicated to "Sustainably Feeding Tomorrow." With over 35 years of aquaculture experience, we provide healthy, sustainable food including salmon, prawn and barramundi, while prioritising sustainability for future generations.
The Role
Tassal is seeking an experienced Senior Dispatch Supervisor at our Proserpine processing facility. If you have FMCG and logistics experience and want a role with a perfect work/life balance, this is for you. You'll ensure our Aussie prawns get where they need to be, on time - thriving during peak seasons including Christmas and Easter.
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, you'll own the day-to-day operation of our finished goods stores and dispatch function, leading a small team as area owner. This role covers site stores and dispatch execution; freight contracting and carrier commercial management sit outside it.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, motivate and develop a small dispatch team, setting daily priorities, managing shift coverage and handovers, and building capability.
Maintain finished goods inventory integrity - stock location accuracy, FIFO/FEFO controls, routine counts, variance investigation and segregation of held or non-conforming stock.
Verify product, quantities, pallets and documentation against approved manifests before dispatch, and exercise authority to stop or delay a load where safety, food safety, accuracy or documentation requirements aren't met.
Maintain warehouse and cold store standards, including food safety, hygiene, pest control, forklift/pedestrian controls and equipment defect escalation.
Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality, Customer Service and Logistics on product availability, holds, order accuracy and load readiness.
Champion WHS and environmental protocols, and drive Continuous Improvement to reduce miss-picks, product damage, loading delays and inventory variance.
Role Requirements
Proven stock and stores management experience, ideally in FMCG.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a small team.
Strong attention to detail, inventory control and stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO) knowledge.
Experience with inventory systems, manifests and dispatch documentation.
Strong planning and cross-functional coordination skills.
Exposure to Continuous Improvement (CI) processes.
Forklift licence (desirable).
Food manufacturing, cold storage or regulated environment experience (desirable).
Role Offerings
Full-time, competitive salary.
Small, dedicated team driving operational efficiencies.
Friendly, supportive, safety-focused environment.
Maxxia Rewards programme and workplace wellbeing support.
Unbeatable lifestyle location - half an hour from Airlie Beach and Bowen, in the beautiful Whitsundays.
