Role: Developer. Skills: SAP WM. Experience: 5 - 12 Years. Qualification: Bachelor Of Engineering
An SAP Warehouse Management (WM) professional designs,
configures, and maintains digital systems to track inventory and manage the
flow of goods. Key duties include mapping physical warehouse layouts into the
system, setting up putaway rules, managing team training, and troubleshooting
day-to-day logistical issues.
System Design & Configuration: Structuring the digital warehouse. This involves
setting up storage types (physical divisions of a warehouse, like
high-rack or bulk storage) and storage bins (exact physical locations
for stock).
Rule Setup: Defining strategies for putaway (where to
store incoming goods) and stock removal/picking (how to find and
retrieve goods for delivery) to maximize warehouse efficiency.
System Integration: Connect warehouse tools with other business
departments so information flows automatically. This links your warehouse to Sales
& Distribution (SD) for customer orders, and Materials Management
(MM) for purchasing.
Troubleshooting & Support: Help warehouse workers solve system errors, like
incorrect bin locations or blocked transfer orders.
Physical Inventory: Set up and monitor regular stock checks to ensure
the items recorded in the computer match the actual items on the shelves
Data Management: Conducting physical inventory processes, handling
legacy data uploads, and ensuring exact matches between physical stock and
system data.
Cross-Module Integration: Connecting the WM module with other parts of SAP,
such as Materials Management (MM) for inventory control, Sales and
Distribut ion (SD) for order fulfillment, and Production Planning (PP) for raw
material staging.
Hardware Integration: Setting up Radio Frequency (RF) devices and
barcode scanners, allowing warehouse workers to instantly update stock levels
and pick lists directly in the SAP system.
