TD Bank Group is a Canadian bank founded in 1855 whose modern form dates from the 1955 merger of the Bank of Toronto and the Dominion Bank. It runs one of the two largest retail banking networks in Canada, an unusually large American retail franchise built along the east coast under the TD Bank brand, a wholesale bank through TD Securities and a direct investing business, and it held a substantial stake in Charles Schwab for several years. Headquartered in Toronto and listed in Toronto and New York, it has spent recent years rebuilding its anti-money-laundering controls after United States regulatory penalties.

Job Description:

Role Summary

The Delivery Lead is accountable for leading the end-to-end delivery of complex enterprise data initiatives that enable strategic business, regulatory, data governance, and data management outcomes.

Acting as the central point of accountability for execution, the Delivery Lead is responsible for planning, governance, financial oversight, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and executive reporting across multiple concurrent initiatives.

The role leads cross-functional teams without direct authority and partners closely with business, data, technology, and vendor stakeholders to ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, within budget, and aligned to organizational objectives.

Success in this role requires more than strong delivery discipline. The successful candidate is expected to develop a strong understanding of the business objectives, data management capabilities, stakeholder landscape, and delivery challenges associated with their initiatives. The Delivery Lead is expected to operate as a trusted advisor, proactively identifying risks, challenging assumptions, and helping teams navigate complex delivery decisions.

Key Accountabilities

Delivery

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of large-scale enterprise data initiatives from initiation through implementation and transition to business ownership.
  • Manage multiple concurrent initiatives, typically leading two large projects simultaneously while supporting additional delivery activities.
  • Develop and maintain integrated plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and critical paths.
  • Establish delivery strategies that balance scope, timeline, cost, quality, and resource constraints.
  • Monitor progress, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to maintain delivery commitments.
  • Challenge delivery assumptions, timelines, scope, and resource plans when risks to execution are identified.
  • Identify, manage, and coordinate cross-functional dependencies to ensure delivery plans remain aligned and potential conflicts are proactively addressed.

Stakeholder Management & Executive Engagement

  • Serve as the primary point of coordination and relationship management for sponsors, stakeholders, team members, vendors, and external partners.
  • Provide clear, concise, and actionable updates to senior leadership, including EDMO Senior Leadership Team members and the Head of EDMO.
  • Facilitate executive discussions, governance forums, steering committees, and project review sessions.
  • Influence stakeholders across business, data, and technology teams to drive alignment, accountability, and timely decision-making.

Risk, Issue & Dependency Management

  • Own and maintain project RAID logs, ensuring risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies are actively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Identify delivery risks early, develop mitigation and contingency plans, and escalate significant risks and delivery concerns with recommended actions.
  • Facilitate cross-functional dependency management across business, technology, vendor, and data teams.

Financial Management & Delivery Controls

  • Support project financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and ongoing financial monitoring activities.
  • Track project expenditures, forecast variances, and resource allocations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Partner with finance, business, and delivery stakeholders to maintain financial transparency and delivery accountability.

Governance, Reporting & Compliance

  • Establish and execute delivery governance frameworks that support effective delivery oversight and decision-making.
  • Prepare and deliver executive reporting, dashboards, status updates, and briefing materials.
  • Ensure delivery documentation, reporting, decisions, actions, and commitments are maintained and tracked in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Support internal audit, regulatory, risk, and compliance requirements as applicable.
  • Support continuous improvement of delivery practices, governance processes, and reporting standards.

Vendor & Partner Coordination

  • Coordinate vendor and third-party activities, monitor deliverables and commitments, and ensure alignment with project objectives and delivery plans.

Breadth & Depth

  • Experienced Delivery Lead capable of independently leading large, complex enterprise initiatives ranging from approximately $1M to $5M in value.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives with significant business, data, technology, and stakeholder complexity.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, governance frameworks, financial controls, and delivery best practices.
  • Ability to operate effectively in both Agile and Waterfall delivery environments and apply the appropriate methodology based on initiative requirements.
  • Proven ability to influence stakeholders, challenge assumptions, and navigate ambiguity in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to rapidly understand organizational priorities, business processes, and data management capabilities.
