About the Role

Team Global Express is seeking a Freight Coordinator / Same Day Consultant to join our Melbourne Airport team in a permanent full-time role. This is a fast-paced operational role responsible for coordinating urgent and time-critical freight movements across our Same Day and Premium Services network. Working closely with customers, drivers, subcontractors and internal teams, you will ensure freight is collected and delivered safely, efficiently and on time while providing exceptional customer service throughout the delivery process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Permanent full-time position. Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm.
  • Coordinate Same Day and Premium Services freight movements from booking through to delivery
  • Allocate and coordinate jobs with drivers, subcontractors and service providers
  • Monitor freight movements and proactively manage delivery performance throughout the day
  • Track consignments and ensure service commitments are achieved
  • Communicate with customers, drivers and operational teams to provide timely updates and manage expectations
  • Manage operational disruptions, delays and service issues while identifying effective solutions
  • Prepare customer quotes and process bookings accurately and efficiently
  • Respond to customer enquiries via phone and email in a professional and timely manner
  • Manage inbound customer enquiries through dedicated phone queues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of requests and service issues
  • Conduct outbound calls to customers, drivers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to coordinate freight movements and provide service updates
  • Manage incoming emails, customer enquiries and service requests through Salesforce, ensuring cases are actioned, updated and resolved within service expectations
  • Ensure Proof of Delivery and operational documentation is completed accurately
  • Work closely with branches, account managers and operational teams to deliver outstanding service outcomes
  • Maintain accurate records within internal systems and operational platforms
  • Follow company procedures and promote a strong commitment to safety and compliance

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous experience in transport, logistics, courier, freight forwarding or a fast-paced operational environment (preferred but not mandatory)
  • Experience coordinating deliveries, dispatching, scheduling or allocating work is highly regarded
  • Strong customer service and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure
  • High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a time-sensitive environment
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office and operational systems
  • A proactive, team-focused approach with a commitment to delivering exceptional service
