Senior Automation & Analytics Solution Engineer

Role : Sr Automation & Analytics Solution Engineer (Alteryx, PowerPlatform) - Chennai Hybrid

Job Summary :

We are seeking an adaptable and end-to-end Automation & Analytics Solution Engineer who thrives on taking complete ownership of complex technical ecosystems. In this role, you will bridge the gap between business strategy and hands-on execution. Rather than specializing in a single isolated tool, you will own solutions holistically translating complex business requirements into scalable architectures across Alteryx, Power Automate Desktop (PAD), PowerBI, SQL, and Microsoft Copilot Studio. You will manage the entire delivery lifecycle from requirement discovery through UAT, production deployment, and ongoing enhancement management.

Working Days : Monday - Friday (3 days in office.)

Key Deliverables & Success Metrics :

- System Uptime & Stability : Low incidence of production failures, swift resolution of bug fixes via thorough root-cause analysis, and seamless CR deployments.

- Business Value Alignment : High stakeholder satisfaction scores driven by clear communication and on-time delivery of business objectives.

- Solution Integrity : Clean, maintainable, and fully documented codebases across Alteryx, PAD, PowerBI, and database layers.

Job Role & Responsibility :

1. End-to-End Solution Architecture & Business Translation :

- System Understanding : Analyze how disparate platforms, databases, and desktop applications interact across the enterprise landscape to architect cohesive solution flows.

- Requirements Translation : Engage directly with functional business partners to unpack ambiguous problems and convert complex operations into actionable technical architectures.

- Full-Lifecycle Ownership : Take single-point accountability for delivering solutions from initial discovery through design, development, user acceptance testing (UAT), release, and post-implementation support.

2. Technical Execution & Multi-Tool Integration :

- ETL & Data Engineering (Alteryx & SQL) : Design, construct, and optimize Alteryx workflows and complex SQL queries to ingest, transform, and clean high-volume data from enterprise databases.

- RPA & Intelligent Automation (Power Automate Desktop) : Build and maintain robust UI/API desktop flows to automate high-volume manual routines and cross-system tasks.

- Advanced Analytics & Visualization (Power BI) : Develop intuitive, executive-ready Power BI dashboards and semantic data models that transform automated outputs into actionable business intelligence.

- Conversational & AI Integration (Copilot Studio) : Leverage working knowledge of Copilot Studio to integrate intelligent agents, natural language interfaces, or AI capabilities into automation workflows.

3. Troubleshooting, Maintenance & Change Management :

- Root-Cause Analysis (RCA) : Deeply analyze legacy or inherited complex solutions to diagnose failures, trace system dependencies, and isolate impacted modules quickly.

- Change Request (CR) Execution : Scope, design, and deploy enhancements or bug fixes without introducing regression issues or disturbing live production functionality.

- Risk & Dependency Management : Proactively identify technical risks, cross-team dependencies, and environmental constraints throughout project lifecycles.

4. Stakeholder Management & Communication :

- Cross-Functional Orchestration : Serve as the technical primary point of contact for both non-technical business leaders and IT delivery teams.

- Expectation Management : Clearly articulate project scope, timelines, trade-offs, and risk mitigations to maintain alignment across business stakeholders.

Tech Stack :

- Alteryx : Strong hands-on proficiency in Alteryx Designer (macros, batch processing, performance tuning, and server automation).

- Power Automate Desktop (PAD) : Deep experience orchestrating UI automation, exception handling, custom scripts, and error recovery routines.

- SQL : Advanced capabilities in writing joins, stored procedures, complex transformations, and database performance optimization.

- Power BI : Hands-on experience with DAX, Power Query, tabular data modeling, and UI report customization.

- Copilot Studio : Functional working knowledge for building or configuring conversational bots and Copilot-driven UI triggers.

- Analytical Mindset : Proven history of taking broad business challenges and solving them using a multi-tool approach rather than forcing a single technology fit.

- Project Governance : Experience managing project plans, tracking delivery milestones, documenting standard operating procedures (SOPs), and conducting structured UAT sessions.

Certifications :

- Alteryx Designer Core / Advanced Certification

- Microsoft Certified : Power Platform Developer Associate (PL-400) or Functional Consultant (PL-200)
