Role: TPO

Senior Technical Product & Program Owner ‿ One Engineering Platform

Reports to: Senior Engineering Manager, One Engineering Platform. IC role, no direct reports.

The role

Own the roadmap for a major chunk of BT's internal developer platform, used by 600+ engineers. Get things built and shipped across four squads: Core, Ops, SRE, Migration. You'll shape what gets built next and drive it through delivery, working closely with me and the technical lead on the big calls.

No direct reports. You'll earn buy in from squads through good judgment and technical credibility, not authority.

What you'll do

• Own the backlog and roadmap for your area
• Write stories and acceptance criteria clear enough that engineers don't need to chase you for clarification
• Track dependencies across Core, Ops, SRE and Migration, and catch clashes before they wreck a sprint
• Sit between engineering and stakeholders (finance, leadership, platform consumers) and translate both ways
• Run roadmap reviews and quarterly planning
• Bring prioritization calls to me and the technical lead backed by data ‿ adoption numbers, reliability impact, DevEx signals
• Push SRE's reliability work and Migration's cutover work into the backlog as real items, not afterthoughts
• Get squads moving on your calls without being their manager

What we're looking for

• 5+ years in product ownership, technical program management, or a mix
• Technical enough to read an architecture diagram and hold your own in a design review
• Has driven delivery across teams that didn't report to them
• Writes clearly
• Comfortable saying no with data behind it
• Platform or DevEx experience is a plus
