Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend/API Developer with extensive experience in mainframe development, specifically with a strong emphasis on DB2 Mainframe knowledge. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems and APIs that support our business applications. This role requires a deep understanding of mainframe technologies and a commitment to delivering high quality solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs using mainframe technologies.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity within DB2 Mainframe environments.
• Implement best practices for coding, testing, and deployment of backend applications.
• Debug and troubleshoot issues in existing applications and provide timely resolutions.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in mainframe development and DB2 databases.

Mandatory Skills:

• Strong expertise in DB2 Mainframe, including database design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Proficient in COBOL, JCL, and other mainframe programming languages.
• Experience with API development and integration.
• Solid understanding of mainframe architecture and data management.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
• Experience with other database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) is a plus.
• Knowledge of modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python) is advantageous.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 7 10 years of experience in mainframe development with a focus on DB2.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
