Position Summary
As part of the Tech24 team and broader Tech24 network, the Foodservice (Hot-Side) Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing commercial cooking equipment at customer locations. This role requires strong troubleshooting ability, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. Technicians work independently in the field, ensuring kitchen equipment operates safely and efficiently to minimize downtime and support business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial cooking equipment (ovens, fryers, steamers, griddles, warmers, mixers, dishwashers, flattops, holding cabinets, etc.)
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure safe efficient equipment operations
- Test components and verify proper operation after repairs
- Accurately document service calls, parts used, labor hours, and customer interactions in company system
- Clearly communicate repair status, recommendations, and timelines to customers
- Manage truck inventory to ensure proper parts and tools are stocked
- Respond to service calls in a timely and professional manner
- Represent the company with professionalism while delivering high-quality customer service
- Follow all safety regulations and company policies
- Participate in ongoing technical training and professional development opportunities
- Participate in on--call rotation as assigned
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of commercial cooking equipment repair experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record required
- Strong gas and/or electric troubleshooting experience
- Solid understanding of mechanical systems and electrical components
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift up to 50+ lbs. and work in varying indoor / outdoor conditions
- Ability to climb ladders, work from heights, and crawl in tight quarters
- Own industry standard hand tools
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation as needed
Compensation Transparency
The advertised pay range for this position is $35-$45. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience level, technical certifications, skill set, and overall qualifications. Candidates with advanced expertise in commercial hot-side equipment may be considered toward the higher end of the range.
