UI / UX Designer (Contract Basis)

The Role

Senior

• Lead the end-to-end UX strategy and design vision across multiple product lines, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Strategize the design system roadmap in partnership with Product, Engineering, and Brand leadership.
• Authorize design decisions on interaction patterns, visual language, and design system architecture.
• Synergize efforts across UX research, UI design, product, and engineering to deliver cohesive user experiences.
• Negotiate trade-offs between user needs, business goals, technical constraints, and timelines, providing clear recommendations to stakeholders.
• Lead design reviews and critiques, setting quality standards and driving adoption of best practices across the design team.
• Evaluate emerging design tools, methodologies, and trends; recommend adoption where they meaningfully improve user experience or team efficiency.
• Formulate and enforce accessibility standards, usability guidelines, and design QA processes.
• Lead user research initiatives, from strategy through synthesis to inform product and design direction.
• Mentor and grow mid and junior designers through structured feedback, pairing, and career guidance.
• Plan and control design delivery milestones, proactively surfacing risks and coordinating resolution across teams.

Mid

• Plan and design user flows, wireframes, and high-fidelity UI screens that translate requirements into intuitive experiences.
• Control the quality of your own work through usability testing, design QA, and adherence to design system standards.
• Evaluate and apply interaction design and visual design best practices across web and mobile platforms.
• Formulate and document design rationale, user flows, and prototypes that align with product goals and the design system.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Researchers to deliver cohesive, validated user experiences.
• Recommend improvements to design patterns, components, or workflows based on user feedback and day-to-day experience.
• Participate in design critiques, incorporating feedback constructively to improve personal and team output.
• Plan and execute usability testing and basic user research under guidance from senior designers.
• Contribute to design system maintenance, including component documentation and consistency checks.
• Stay current with UI/UX trends and evaluate new tools or techniques relevant to the team's work.

Requirements

Senior

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in UI/UX design, with a demonstrable portfolio of shipped, production-grade digital products at scale.
• Deep expertise in interaction design, visual design, and design systems across web and mobile platforms.
• Proven mastery of design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or equivalent), including component libraries and design tokens.
• Extensive experience conducting and synthesizing user research - usability testing, interviews, surveys, and analytics.
• Strong command of accessibility standards (WCAG) and inclusive design practices.
• Deep experience designing for complex, multi-platform product ecosystems with cross-functional dependencies.
• Proven ability to build and govern scalable design systems and pattern libraries.
• Experience mentoring designers and leading design critiques or design-ops initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy and communicate design rationale to non-design stakeholders.
• Experience partnering closely with Product and Engineering to validate feasibility and ensure design fidelity in implementation.
• Good communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, written and spoken.

Mid

• 2-4 years of hands-on experience in UI/UX design, with at least one project delivered in a professional or academic setting.
• Solid proficiency in interaction design and visual design fundamentals, including typography, color, and layout.
• Hands-on experience with design and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or equivalent).
• Basic experience conducting usability testing or user interviews to validate design decisions.
• Familiarity with responsive design principles across desktop, tablet, and mobile.
• Understanding of design systems and component-based design workflows.
• Basic awareness of accessibility principles and inclusive design guidelines.
• Experience collaborating with Product Managers and Engineers to deliver features end to end.
• Understanding of design handoff practices, including specs, assets, and design QA with engineering.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills in both Bahasa Indonesia and English, written and spoken.
