About the role

We are looking for a proactive, commercially minded, and analytical Demand Planner to join our team in Droitwich. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, Supply Chain, or an analytical Sales role to develop their career within a fast-paced retail environment.

Working closely with Sales, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Finance teams, you'll play a key role in shaping demand forecasts, identifying trends, and providing valuable insights that help drive business performance and support strategic decision-making.

We're keen to hear from candidates who have strong analytical skills and a natural curiosity for data, whether their background is in Demand Planning or a Sales-focused role that involves forecasting, reporting, and close collaboration with Supply Chain teams. You'll be confident engaging with stakeholders at all levels, challenging assumptions, and understanding the commercial impact of key business decisions.

We work on a hybrid basis; this role will be working 3 days onsite and 2 days working from home

Key responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain and review demand forecasts, using historical sales data, current trends and relevant commercial insights.
  • Analyse sales performance, demand patterns and forecast variances to identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with Commercial teams to understand promotional activity, new product launches, customer requirements and changes in market demand.
  • Engage with Supply Chain and Finance to support alignment between demand forecasts, stock availability and business objectives.
  • Challenge forecast assumptions constructively, using data and commercial insight to influence stakeholder decisions.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and bias, identifying root causes of discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
  • Use Excel and relevant ERP or planning systems to maintain accurate data, produce reports and support forecasting activities.
  • Highlight potential supply and demand risks, escalating issues where appropriate and supporting the development of solutions.
  • Contribute to regular planning reviews and cross-functional meetings, clearly communicating findings, risks and recommendations.
  • Identify opportunities to improve forecasting processes, reporting and the quality of planning data.

Essential skills and experience

  • 1-3 years' experience in Demand Planning, Forecasting, Supply Chain, or an analytical Sales role working closely with Supply Chain teams.
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills, with the ability to identify trends and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence decisions.
  • Good commercial awareness and an understanding of the impact of demand, sales, and stock availability.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and proactive in driving improvements.
  • Good commercial acumen and an understanding of how demand, sales performance and stock availability affect business outcomes.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines, as well as the confidence to suggest improvements.
