Python Test Automation Engineer - Linux/Kubernetes

About the Role:
Terralogic is looking for a motivated Python test automation engineer with strong programming and software testing fundamentals. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Python scripting, test automation, Linux troubleshooting, and a basic understanding of virtualisation and container technologies.
Job Location: Bangalore
Work mode: Work from the office (WFO)
Notice period: Immediate to 15 days
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop Python automation scripts and test frameworks from scratch.
- Design, develop, execute, and maintain end-to-end automated test cases.
- Perform functional, system, regression, and API testing.
- Troubleshoot issues in Linux environments using system commands, logs, and debugging techniques.
- Work with Docker, Kubernetes, virtual machines, and virtualization technologies.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues.
- Participate in defect triaging, root cause analysis, and regression testing.
Mandatory Technical Skills:
- Python Programming: Strong Python coding skills; independently developing automation scripts and frameworks from scratch.
- Linux Operating System: Hands-on experience with Linux administration, system debugging, troubleshooting, and log analysis.
- Virtualisation & Hypervisors: Basic understanding of virtualisation concepts, virtual machines, VMware ESXi, and vCenter.
- Kubernetes & Containers: Working knowledge of Kubernetes, Docker, and containerised applications.
- Test Automation: End-to-end test case development, automation framework development, execution, and maintenance.
- API Automation: Working knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman or equivalent automation tools.
- Networking Fundamentals: Understanding of networking concepts and troubleshooting.
- QA Fundamentals: Software testing lifecycle, bug lifecycle, functional testing, system testing, regression testing, and defect triaging.
- Distributed Systems: Basic understanding of compute, storage, networking, virtualisation, and distributed storage.
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Cloud exposure: AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- AI-based development and automation tools, such as Cursor or similar tools.
- Experience working in product-based organizations.
- Familiarity with enterprise data center infrastructure and microservices.
