Teufel Landscape is seeking an experienced Tree Climber / Arborist to join our Oregon tree care team. If you're passionate about arboriculture, enjoy working outdoors, and take pride in safe, professional tree care practices, we'd love to hear from you.

This position plays a critical role in performing tree pruning, removals, rigging operations, and plant health assessments for commercial properties throughout the Portland Metro area.

What You'll Do

As a Tree Climber, you will work as part of a professional arbor crew performing:

• Technical tree pruning and trimming to ANSI standards
• Tree removals using rigging, lowering, and aerial lift techniques
• Safe climbing utilizing ropes, harnesses, saddles, and associated equipment
• Chainsaw operation both aloft and on the ground
• Stump grinding operations and site cleanup
• Wood chipper operation and debris management
• Identification of tree diseases, insect infestations, and structural defects
• Job site safety inspections and adherence to ANSI Z133 standards
• Support of plant health care recommendations through observation and reporting
• Emergency storm response work when needed

What We're Looking For

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous professional tree climbing experience
• Experience with pruning and removals in a production environment
• Knowledge of rigging systems and safe lowering techniques
• Working knowledge of ANSI Z133 safety standards
• Familiarity with ANSI A300 pruning standards
• Experience operating chainsaws, aerial lifts, stump grinders, and wood chippers
• Ability to identify common tree species, diseases, and pests
• ISA Certified Arborist credential preferred or willingness to obtain certification

Requirements

• Regular tree climbing and aerial work
• Frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds
• Occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions including rain, heat, cold, and snow
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, and perform physically demanding work throughout the day
