We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and continuously improve our environmental, health, and safety programs across our Construction, Maintenance, Nursery, and Corporate operations. This role will serve as the company's primary safety subject matter expert, partnering closely with division leaders, supervisors, and field teams to promote a proactive safety culture, reduce operational risk, and ensure regulatory compliance throughout Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.

This position is ideal for a safety professional who thrives on building relationships, influencing positive change, and helping operational teams find practical solutions that keep employees safe while supporting business performance.

What You'll Do

Partner with Leaders Across the Organization

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to operational leaders, supervisors, and employees on workplace safety matters.
  • Build strong working relationships across all divisions to strengthen safety engagement and accountability.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to identify risks and implement practical, sustainable solutions.
  • Support and influence a proactive safety culture across multiple branches and jobsites.

Lead Safety Programs & Compliance

  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve companywide safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Conduct branch and jobsite audits to ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor changes to safety regulations and communicate requirements to operational leaders.
  • Maintain OSHA documentation, SDS libraries, compliance records, and required reporting.
  • Coordinate safety requirements with customers, subcontractors, general contractors, and regulatory agencies.

Drive Training & Employee Development

  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire safety orientation programs.
  • Develop and deliver ongoing safety education, toolbox talks, certification programs, and skills training.
  • Maintain employee certification records and training schedules.
  • Partner with leaders to strengthen workforce readiness and safety awareness.
  • Promote employee engagement through safety committees and awareness initiatives.

Support Incident Prevention & Risk Reduction

  • Lead or assist with investigations involving injuries, vehicle accidents, property damage, and near misses.
  • Identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
  • Analyze safety trends and develop strategies to reduce risk.
  • Partner with Human Resources and operational leaders on workers' compensation and return-to-work efforts.
  • Prepare recommendations and reports for leadership regarding safety performance and emerging risks.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of environmental, health, and safety experience in construction, landscape construction, industrial, manufacturing, or a related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and applicable state safety regulations.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • Excellent communication, training, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proven ability to influence and partner with employees and leaders at all levels of an organization.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to travel regularly (approx. 50% of the time) throughout Oregon, Washington, and Idaho.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • OSHA Authorized Trainer designation.
  • ASP or CSP certification, or active pursuit of certification.
  • First Aid/CPR Instructor certification.
  • Experience managing workers' compensation programs and claims.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
