The Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences (VMBS) is an institution that represents 100 years of growth from a small school of veterinary medicine in 1916 to its present role as a major veterinary educational, medical, and research center. Today, we are one of the largest schools of veterinary medicine in the United States, training nearly 600 Doctor of Veterinary Medicine students each year. What we want

The Program Coordinator II for Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology (VTPP) provides administrative and operational support for VTPP academic programs, ensuring courses, faculty needs, instructional materials, and related processes are organized and effectively managed. The role also coordinates exams, accommodations, scheduling, and other academic activities while collaborating with faculty, students, and departments to support smooth and efficient program operations.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Four years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred qualifications

  • Masters degree
  • Administrative experience

Responsibilities

Program Administration

  • Plan, organize, and oversee program implementation in collaboration with departmental leadership to ensure efficient execution of academic initiatives.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve program procedures and workflows to enhance operational effectiveness and consistency.
  • Lead coordination and administration of course schedules, instructional materials, and faculty communications to ensure seamless course delivery.
  • Ensure all teaching materials are current and compliant with university-required verbiage and standards, including accessibility guidelines.

Exam Development & Administration

  • Oversee exam development and administration processes, including exam setup, reporting, and adherence to academic policies.
  • Exam preparation: including but not limited to print exams, create multiple versions of exams, grade scantrons, set up exam rooms (including seating charts), prepare item analysis sheet for instructors and students, upload exams to AIMS portals for accommodations students.
  • Coordinate make-up exam scheduling and proctoring.

DVM, Graduate & Undergraduate & Course Support

  • Develop in-depth understanding of Learning Management Systems (LMS) to ensure faculty support as needed.
  • Maintain and support Canvas courses for all VTPP-based coursework.
  • Oversee VTPP undergraduate absences verification and approval and necessary excuses from appropriate activities.
  • Manage ADA accommodations and coordinate make-up exams as needed for all VTPP courses.
  • Maintain and update VTPP course catalog entries through CourseLeaf.

Program Development

  • The ideal candidate will have well-developed problem-solving skills, strong intuition, and innovative ideas to improve efficiency and better support the demands that our faculty encounter.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to repeatedly lift and/or move medium weighted objects.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time during exam proctoring.
  • Occassional lifting/carrying/moving of classroom/office materials and equipment.

  • This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures.
  • All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements.
