Role Summary
In support of Cigna Healthcare’s Individual Dental Plans sales, distribution, and partner channel strategies, the Agile Product Owner / Advisor leads business ownership, integration readiness, and delivery execution for multiple external partner solutions. This role serves as a strategic liaison between external enrollment partners, internal business stakeholders, technology teams, operations, and Agile delivery teams to ensure partner integrations are implemented effectively, maintained reliably, and continuously improved to support growth, service continuity, and a strong broker and customer experience.
The position combines Agile product ownership, technical account management, partner relationship management, and operational issue resolution. The Advisor translates business and partner needs into actionable requirements, manages priorities across a high-volume portfolio of partner-facing work, supports implementation and post-launch performance, and drives alignment across product, engineering, operations, compliance, sales, and external partner teams. The role is accountable for enabling scalable, compliant, and reliable integrated partner solutions across distribution channels.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as business owner and Agile Product Owner / Advisor for multiple integrated partner solutions, including external enrollment platforms, digital broker partners, distribution channels, and related operational integrations.
- Act as the primary liaison between external partners and internal business, technology, operations, compliance, product, and scrum teams to align partner needs with delivery priorities and business outcomes.
- Translate business objectives, partner requirements, regulatory considerations, and operational needs into clear features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery priorities.
- Own and manage the backlog for partner-impacting initiatives, ensuring work is prioritized, refined, sequenced, and ready for Agile delivery teams.
- Lead partner implementation readiness, including requirements validation, testing coordination, launch planning, go-to-market readiness, and operational handoff.
- Coordinate cross-functional delivery across product, engineering, operations, sales, compliance, vendor, and partner teams to manage dependencies, mitigate risks, and maintain execution momentum.
- Serve as a trusted strategic contact for external partners by supporting integration strategy, issue resolution, escalations, and ongoing performance management.
- Manage post-launch support for partner solutions by monitoring operational performance, triaging issues, coordinating root-cause analysis, and guiding partner-impacting defects through resolution.
- Support production stability and service continuity by partnering with technology and operations teams to resolve incidents, communicate impacts, and prevent recurrence.
- Lead user acceptance testing, release validation, and business sign-off to ensure delivered solutions meet expected business, partner, customer, and broker outcomes.
- Evaluate partner workflows, system performance, customer experience, broker usability, and operational impacts to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support training, documentation, playbooks, and internal/external enablement materials to ensure consistent adoption of partner integration processes and capabilities.
- Contribute to governance standards, intake routines, prioritization practices, and best practices for managing external partner integrations across the distribution ecosystem.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Agile product ownership, technical account management, partner integrations, systems analysis, product delivery, implementation management, or related business technology roles.
- Experience supporting external partner integrations, enrollment platforms, distribution partners, vendor-supported systems, APIs, data exchanges, or digital sales/service platforms.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery practices, including backlog management, user story creation, acceptance criteria, refinement, sprint planning, release validation, and UAT coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business, operational, regulatory, and partner requirements into actionable technology deliverables.
- Experience managing escalations, production issues, partner-impacting defects, or operational support workflows from intake through resolution.
- Ability to coordinate delivery across business, technology, operations, compliance, product, vendor, and external partner stakeholders in a matrixed environment.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical and operational topics clearly to both business and technical audiences.
- Experience using Jira or similar Agile backlog and workflow management tools.
- Knowledge of health insurance operations, ACA marketplace processes, enrollment workflows, broker distribution, or regulated healthcare environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Individual and Family Plans, ACA marketplace enrollment, direct enrollment, web-based entities, broker platforms, or health insurance distribution channels.
- Experience working with external digital broker partners, consumer platforms, call center platforms, quoting and enrollment engines, CRM platforms, or partner integration playbooks.
- Experience supporting API integrations, XML/data mapping, rate or enrollment data workflows, payment-related integrations, or operational data handoffs.
- Experience managing go-to-market readiness, partner launches, release communications, training, and post-launch stabilization.
- Experience working in a scaled Agile environment with cross-functional product, engineering, architecture, QA, and operations teams.
- Familiarity with compliance, regulatory, audit, privacy, and documentation requirements in a healthcare or insurance environment.
