About This Opportunity

Join a high performing, collaborative and purpose driven team responsible for connecting future international students with one of the world's leading universities. Reporting to the Senior Manager, International Marketing and Communication, you will lead UQ's international content and communication function, guiding a team of content and communication professionals to deliver audience centred, strategic and impactful content that support international student recruitment campaigns. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity where you will work together with the Manager, International Campaign and Prospect Engagement across a diverse portfolio spanning content, campaigns, social media, web, publications and events, while contributing to UQ's shared vision of creating change together.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the international content and communication function and contributing to the development and delivery of international marketing and communication strategies and annual work plans.

  • Managing a team of content and communication professionals, ensuring priorities are delivered effectively and stakeholders receive exceptional support and advice.

  • Driving the development of compelling international marketing collateral, communication and content that supports student recruitment objectives across global markets.

  • Leading creative production, stakeholder relationships, stakeholder engagement, content governance, messaging frameworks and performance optimisation across multiple communication channels.

About You

You are a strategic communications leader who thrives in a collaborative environment and enjoys translating complex ideas into engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences. Combining strong leadership capability with exceptional communication skills, you will bring a proven ability to deliver impactful outcomes while building trusted relationships across a broad stakeholder landscape.

  • Postgraduate qualifications and experience, or an equivalent combination of professional expertise, in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism or a related discipline, with experience leading high performing teams.

  • Demonstrated success leading a communications and content function, including people leadership, budget oversight, strategic planning and the delivery of organisational priorities.

  • Strong expertise across contemporary communication channels and content strategies, with a track record of producing high quality content and measurable communication outcomes for diverse audiences.

  • Proven ability to manage complex creative projects and stakeholder relationships, including working effectively with external agencies, influencing decision makers and balancing competing priorities in a fast paced environment.
