About This Opportunity

Are you passionate about creating meaningful connections and inspiring the next generation of rural medical professionals? Join the Rural Clinical School in a pivotal role that brings people, communities and opportunities together.

As the Senior Administration and Engagement Officer, you will lead a diverse portfolio of engagement initiatives that support prospective students, current medical students and junior doctors, helping to strengthen rural medical pathways and promote rewarding careers in rural and remote healthcare.

Working within a collaborative and purpose-driven team, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional experiences, fostering lasting stakeholder relationships and contributing to positive outcomes for rural communities through education and engagement.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating innovative events, programs and engagement activities that inspire future students, support current learners and encourage junior doctors to pursue rural and remote medical careers.

  • Building and nurturing strong relationships with students, alumni, volunteers, healthcare partners and community stakeholders to enhance participation, connection and the student experience.

  • Developing clear communication and promotional materials, maintaining engagement databases and reporting on program outcomes to inform continuous improvement and future opportunities.

  • Providing high-level coordination and administrative support to committees, meetings and working groups, ensuring effective governance, collaboration and delivery of strategic objectives.

About You

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and demonstrated experience in administration, stakeholder engagement, event management, communications, or a related field.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with diverse stakeholders, with a strong customer service and engagement focus.

  • Experience coordinating and delivering events, programs or initiatives, with excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing communications, promotional materials and reports.

  • Demonstrated ability to collect, maintain and analyse data to support program delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and administrative systems, with experience using event management platforms and working effectively within a large or complex organisation.
